A month ago people were saying only 2 QBs would go first round and doubting whether these QBs were worth high picks. They were also saying Wentz would be guaranteed to be available in the second round.
Now a lot of the mock drafts have 4 QBs in the first with Goff being a top 4 pick. Wentz is now getting rated mid first with some putting him as high as seven overall.
There's a clear trend. QBs are rising stock.
Well a few years ago both Johnny Manziel, Teddy Brodgewater and probably Derek Carr were considered top 10 picks around the same time---Bridgewater was considered number one. That just shows a ton can change.
I am one that hopes they don't waste #4 on a QB. Imo none of these Qb's in this years draft are franchise Qb's. but who really knows.
I know this... If you pick a QB high there's a chance he's gonna be a bust. But There's a very good chance when Romo goes down or retires we gonna get retreads like after aikman retired.
The thing about Wentz or any other QB picked at #4...
I remember when Troy was drafted... All through his senior season at UCLA, he was going to be a top draft pick. There was none of this "Well is he worth a picking at the top of the 1st round" kind of thing. That's what's scary about all 3 of these QB's being named as potential picks at #4.
My apologies...the lead topic should have been #4 pick.
I'll bite, just draft Treadwell.
I'll bite, just draft Treadwell.
Treadwell is overrated to me. I wouldnt pick him at 4. To me he is a marginal top 10 prospect. Isnt nearly as good as Watkins amd Cooper were coming out and I dont even think he was as good a prospect as White was last year. Asfar as Dallas goes, he doesnt offer us enough of what we dont already have to be worth a top 10 pick. As a #2 WR he is redundant with Bryant, and isnt as much a deep threat as Bryant let alone someone we want to complete him with
4th overall? hmmmm. we will have to wait and see...I still think Defense or Treadwell with the #4 and grab Connor Cook with the 2nd rounder or use the 3rd and trade back into the 2nd to get him
You don't agree that Bryant, Treadwell, Williams, and Beasley would claim some serious game time attention?
I'd definitely spend a fourth round pick on him..... As would any team, I'm guessing.
Yes, but not for the 4th overall pick. I dont want to spend that high a pick on a guy who I think will be more Michael Crabtree then Dez Bryant. In our offense I think we would get better production from Cory Coleman then we would from Treadwell, an Coleman might be there in the 2nd
lets see how he does in the senior bowl.
