well, stanback talked about his grandfather, how he was instrumental in his life, while mostly staying with his mother, but his dad is in his life too.

talking about him being an athlete, and how some teams want him to be a wr, plus punt returner like the cowboys.

he thought he would go in the 3rd or 4th round due to his injury, so didnt bother him to be drafted second day.

when jerry jones called him, and told him the cowboys were going to move him to wr, stanback said, whatever way i can help the team. jerry jones asked him about if he had ever ruturned punts, he said no, but again whatever way he could help the team, because jeff ireland whom was real high on him last week, said he is very elusive, can make people miss is why they want to try him returning punts.

asked him about being a fighter with all the trajedies in his life, like his grandfather dying before he could see him get drafted by the cowboys, how he was starting, then he got hurt, then his friend, threw an interception, took off his helmet, and got knocked down by a defensive linemen, when they took that qb in for analysis, they found a brain tumor, then stanback realized, if he had never gotten hurt, his other friend would never have found the brain tumor until too late, so he puts his faith in God and trusts him, and he is a fighter.

llike he mentioned, his biggest games were against notre dame, usc, etc. i remember watching him against usc his freshman year, and usc had a pretty good defense that year, and Stanback just would tear them up, with moves and touchdowns. Thats one of his qualities, moves, and making people miss along with his blazing speed if his foot gets fully healed.

thats all in can remember right now, guys hope it helps, joe

Been searching the web looking for any highlight video and no luck. Anyone know of a site that has some vids of him? Want to see what he looks like...

Thank you for the link, although all of the shots are at ground level so its hard to tell how he approach's dbacks on the next level. Hard to get a perspective.

Anyone else think this guy would be a huge weapon inside the 5 yard line lining up behind center? How do you stop him? It seemed like every other highlight was him running in for a TD.

Man - line him in the shotgun with 3-4 WR's and let him pick and choose what he wants to do.

Agreed, it looks like hes explosive, but its really hard to tell.

I don't think there are many "highlight" reels of someone throwing an incompletion or getting tackled short of the end zone.

Well, I guess I meant that most of the highlights were of him running inside the 5 versus throwing 50 yard bombs. Sure seemed like he would be a heck of a weapon behind center once inside the 5 - throw or pass.

Perhaps, but I would entrust him for more tricks in terms of 2 point conversions as you have less to venture than an attempt to convert a touchdown.

We have real playmakers who should be able to get the job done inside the five without resorting to trickery.

Putting it mildly, we have had just as big of a threat in Crayton for three years and haven't done anything like it very often. And this was with a coach who liked to run trick plays.

I'm not sure Crayton is quite the athlete Stanback is. Speed and shiftiness. I wouldn't rule out him playing a slash role. Not sure we need it but I can see it opening up a defense on short yardage situations and on the goal line. I don't see that happening but I'm not going to say it won't happen.

SOmeone had a link on here earlier of him throwing a ball 73 yards for a TD. And I mean it was 73 yards in the air and right on target. I'll keep looking but it was impressive.
