Isn't Moore still practice squad eligible?

I believe you have to play in 6 games to be ineligible for the practice squad. If Kellen Moore is still eligible I think Dallas should cut him and put him on the practice squad and keep Rush. I don't think anyone would pick up Kellen on waivers if he is cut.

Why?

His only real value is as the game day backup because he knows the offense so well he can come in and play without missing a beat (knowledge wise).

That would be fine if our offense was having the pass batted down at the line.....

You may have misunderstood. I don't want Moore. At all. But, putting him on the PS makes absolutely no sense to me. He's not going to get better. He doesn't need reps and/or time to learn the offense. He's certainly not going to push anyone else on the PS.

Because If he's practice squad he still is on the sideline and can still help with the game plan

Why would we want him to be on the PS or help with the game plan. If he is that smart on game planning, then cut him, sign him as an offensive assistant. Develop another worthy QB on the PS.
If Dak and Copper both are out, then no QB will help regardless.

No one else will sign him............. he could un-retire at any time if desperately needed
I value his experience and knowledge over a rookie but you are right. Keep the rookie because no one is gonna steal Moore from you

He needs to retire and get a head start on his coaching career...he is one of those guys who would probably be a much better coach than they were as an NFL player

Because the PS QB can dress and play in an emergency as the third QB. That's why. He can also chart etc on the sideline. He doesn't need to coach just dress as the #3. And that doesn't count against the gameday roster.
