Isn't Moore still practice squad eligible?

Because the PS QB can dress and play in an emergency as the third QB. That's why. He can also chart etc on the sideline. He doesn't need to coach just dress as the #3. And that doesn't count against the gameday roster.
I don't think they have that emergency QB rule any more..... you have to be on the 46 man roster to play

If Kellen Moore has a future in football, its as a coach. Div.2 college football would be a great fit for him.:D

When did they make that rule up? I've never heard of it. The old emergency QB rule went away in 2011 and even then the player still had to be part of the 53 man roster and not the practice squad.

You're right. I wasn't aware they had abolished that rule. You have to pull the emergency QB from the active game day roster. Thanks for clarifying that. Only six years behind the times. A mere blink of the eye for someone my age. :)

I just hope cowboy coaches and front office dont bury their head in sand and keep Moore despite how aweful he looks and how great Rush looks..

If we cut Moore anytime before week 1, the Giants will sign him and gain even more knowledge of our offense than they already have.

The Kellen Moore mistake happened in 14. We should have probably been more patient with Weeden or Cassel. By now, they would be much more familiar with the offense and would have the physical ability to run it in a pinch unlike Moore.

If we are playing KMoore more than a half........ we are done anyways

Yea, I the one good thing he had going for him, was I *thought* he wouldn't completely **** the bed and could at least keep a keep a lead. Then last night...sack, strip, fumble, TD.

We're probably screwed if Rush has to start a regular season game or has to throw more than a few passes, but my god, it's evident who the better QB is and it's not close.

Be prepared for 3 QBs although I'd just keep Rush and Dak. They likely don't trust Rush yet.

I think that is the likely scenario, but honestly I'm fine with either scenario of keeping Moore or cutting him and making Rush the #2.

I don't think Rush is quite as good as some think, though he has probably shown enough that they could play him as a rookie. They certainly have the experience giving Dak a crash course as rookie (though Dak is a freak of nature).

But on the other hand Moore is better than people think. His top target last night was Lance Lenoir last night, who is somewhere between 8th and 10th on the depth chart, if his job is to throw to Dez and Witten in between handouts to Elliot he will be just fine.

Where is Luke Mccown? How do we keep 3 QB's, 5 RB's, and 4 tight ends? A lot of pet cats are not going to make it.

What's it going to be then, eh?

A practice squad QB does things differently than a backup.

Often, he is in charge of prepping the team for what they will be facing, doing some of the same things, showing the same tendencies, basically learning the other team in a short period of time.

Sounds about right for him.

All in all, just make him a coach. Quit it with the pretense.

I believe you have to play in 6 games to be ineligible for the practice squad. If Kellen Moore is still eligible I think Dallas should cut him and put him on the practice squad and keep Rush. I don't think anyone would pick up Kellen on waivers if he is cut.

Oh 'ID love to see that, ... "have to play in 6 games eh!?"...they should make that .., "have to win 6 games!";)...I'm so confused!

Because If he's practice squad he still is on the sideline and can still help with the game plan

Nah guys it cant be both ways. You either take Moore the way he is or you don't. There is no picking a choosing of traits.

Pretty sure sticking him on PS is the teams ability to pick and choose his traits

Agreed although I'm convinced Rush has more upside by a good bit. Being a SB contender changes things to a more conservative approach at QB. My guess is they keep three now.
