It is now official. We won the Parsons trade

I do think the 3-tech position is more important than DE, especially in our alignment, and we've been looking for a good one for a long, long time.

If you'd have told me we'd get Kenny Clark, Quinnen Williams and a first for Parsons, a second and Mazi Smith, I'd have considered that a fair swap in value.
lololol. real nfl GMs dont. check the salaries

I don't disagree, but in all fairness we have not used either of GB's picks yet.

All we have done is trade 2 of our own picks and Mazi for Williams.

So technically the trade has not been completed yet.

However, I agree Williams is the better player and currently cheaper and significantly more physical, and that is what we have been desperately needing.

The fact that we gave up the key piece before the season and received the key piece halfway through the season (after enough losses to nearly ruin the season) has to enter into the calculation.
The season was not going anywhere either way.

Factor in we most likely have a higher draft pick this way as a positive.

Keep watching when it counts rambo. The seahawks and lions can't beat them. And those two are the biggest threats at the moment.

The eagles are a factor but their defense is not as good as last year. The rams or forty niners are a dark horse candidate depending on their health at the end of the season.
And???

Out of the Cowboys current 5 losses, 4 should have been wins for our Boys had we not committed so many game costing mistakes and had a better Defense. Well, Jerry and the front office just made some moves to try to improve our Defense. If these picked up players show up and perform, that would help improve our Defense. That's not including players like Overshown, Diggs and Revel, Jr. who are expected to come back soon and contribute.

If our Defense improves and our Offense corrects its mistakes and gets back to playing as it should, this team might have a chance to sneak in as a wildcard this season. If not, at least the front office is admitting its mistakes and making player moves to try to help improve the team going forward the rest of this season and after.

So why keep complaining? At least this front office is trying to help fix our problems.

Aren't the Cowboys at a 3% chance to make the playoffs? These moves were good, but it's more about next season.

Show Micah's salary for 2028 ($42+ mil), 2029 ($73+ mil)...

It gets a lot costlier for Green Bay.
Ahh I see you’ve been paying attention!

The 2029 will never happen. I usually show all of it but in this case, he was talking about the comparative cap impact across the years when the players would all be active.

You can see the full chart and some analysis about our future cap here.

It’s going to be pretty grim. Jerry has already far outspent every last penny of his “savings” from not simply signing Parsons when he could have. We are about to be dead broke because instead of making wise investments, Jerry has spent willy nilly.

Even with the 72m year that will never happen, Jerry has signed up for $150m above and beyond the worst case Micah scenario.

The $72+ million in 2029 for Parsons will happen for the Packers because Micah's void years don't start until 2030...

The issue is that there is no plan. Jerry swings from pillar to post without even an ounce of good sense planning. There no strategy. It’s all been pure reaction since the beginning of the offseason

One mistake creates another and another and another to to the point where “the plan” becomes trying to constantly correct mistakes.

It’s a freaking disaster and he’s never been worse than he’s been since the playoff loss to Green Bay. Just a chaotic s-storm.

Maybe so. Time will tell.

That’s not how that works. They’ll renegotiate after 2028, just like we’re about to do with Dak this coming off season.

We’re not paying Dak 74m next year.
Understood, but the teams still get hit with some pricey costs to their salary cap.

And? Sneak in as a wild card and do what? Deer in the headlight mode? Thousand yard stare coming to a TV near you.

Some of y’all are age obsessed.

27-30 are prime years.

Calais Campbell just destroyed our o-line and he’s 39 years old.

Clooney just had his best game in years and he’s 32.
Anybody could destroy the Dallas Oline. That is not saying much at all. And George Clooney plays for the Cowboys? He is old but tough.
