Think they started in 1966 in the AFL. For the longest time the Raiders were #1 on this list. Been a while since I checked it out.

You might want to change that to "franchise" ASAP.... Seriously though, it's amazing because San Fran, Chicago and Green Bay have all been in the NFL longer. Pretty darn impressive considering the bad years from 99'-03'.

Not to mention the bad years from '60-'64 and '86-'91!

But what's really impressive (to me, at least) is that in the decade of the '70s, the Cowboys played in HALF the Super Bowls. So far, no other team has done that...

I'd say that prior to Parcells tenure, the last 10 seasons probably lowered our winning %. Seeing as how our first good year in a bit took us to #1, I would think that we probably would have been #1 in the early 90's, lost the title, and just are getting it back.

Oakland was up near the top for years also, but with their bad teams they dropped.
This is truly amazing, even if we were in the top 5 and not #1. Because the NFC East has always been one of the toughest divisions for decades. As where the AFC East was one of the weakest.
