Trading next year's 6th RD pick for Rolando McClain is going to be a steal.

IRVING, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys will be more than happy to give up their sixth-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens in 2015 for what Rolando McClain has meant to their success in 2014.

Because McClain will play in more than 50 percent of the defensive snaps, the Cowboys will fork over their sixth rounder to the Ravens, while getting Baltimore’s seventh-round pick in return, as per the July trade between the clubs.

The Cowboys made a low-risk deal that could have cost them nothing in return. In desperate need to find a replacement for Sean Lee, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in May, the Cowboys simply hoped McClain could regain some of the form that made him the eighth pick of the 2010 draft for the Oakland Raiders. He had retired twice and his time with the Raiders did not go well.

Jason Garrett reached out to his former boss and McClain’s coach at Alabama, Nick Saban. Jerry Jones reached out to McClain while on vacation in Turkey.

It could not have worked out any better.

I love this guy and hope he figures into the plans for the next several years. He found his fit in the NFL.

What are you talking about? What does anything in your post have to do with this thread's subject?

Might want to check your own though process. Don't see how a man spends his money or time, whether it's Jones or McClain, has anything to do with a house fire or a person's ability to think.

As far as the trade...it turned out to be a great move...props to Jerry for pulling off the deal and props to McClain for the season he's had.

The article was poorly written, it didn't clarify that jerry jones went to Turkey at the time of the trade. It seemed like Rolando went to Turkey THIS week. That does not make sense with the new-found urgency to beat the Commanders. It also doesn't make sense in the context of his Alabama house being burned down. Why go to Turkey, in either case?

I was commenting on how easily that sentence could be misinterpreted, that was my "THOUGH process", as you put it.

Regardless, Merry Christmas!

Steal even if he only plays this season with us, even though I sincerely hope he stays for many years.

Question, I understand why he wanted to leave the raiders! they stink. But what made him retire again when he was with the Ravens. That's a team that always challenges for the playoffs.

Getting Ro for peanuts is God's way of paying us back for losing Jimmy Smith.

Following the murderer Ray Lewis is a lot of pressure.

I can imagine playing on the same team with Ray Lewis can be a creepy experience. He seems like the type that would stalk teammates to make sure they were focused on football.
