The problem is, has been, and (until he's gone) always will be Jerry Jones. He has spent 20+ years doing what is best for his ego, not the Dallas Cowboys.

There will be no real changes. Jerry will not fire Garrett. He's either too senile or too proud to make any of the necessary changes to the culture or the leadership, so we will get more of the same for the foreseeable future.

For some reason, he's been getting a lot of love around here lately. "Ooooh, Jerry called Goodell a bad word and is taking on the NFL. Isn't he the coolest?"

No. He's not. He's turned the greatest franchise in football into a perennial laughingstock and has sucked all the hope out of the fan base. It's not fun anymore. Thanks Jerrah!

Agree with everything except sucking the hope out. He has built the richest sports entity in the world...based on HOPE! REAL fans realize the fraud he is as a football man...but there aren't many of us left

We need to draft better. NO MORE WASTED HIGH PICKS can be tolerated. Thst is on JJ. We will have some cap room soon and need to entertain some trades when appropriate as well.

Jerry has one problem that he hasn't resolved. I think he's allowed everything else to get better via delegation as a GM should, including talent acquisition, but he continuously underrates coaching.

It's easy to see the difference between a well run franchise and the dumpster fire the Dallas Cowboys have become ... the Patriots lose future hall of fame QB due to a suspension for 4 games ... the patriots go on to win a SB that year. Dallas loses starting running back due to suspension, what does Dallas due, collapse, the owner of the team threatens to sue the league. 1 TD in 2 games without Zeke, pathetic...

I was one of those suckers for a while, but it has started to sink in the past few years. My fiancee tells me almost every game, "I can't believe you don't get excited or mad anymore." Nope, I don't. Hard to really invest my time, money, and energy when I know how the story is gonna go.

That's sad for me to say--I have missed only 1 Cowboys game in 10+ years. I'll continue to tune in weekly, but I just don't care much anymore. It's not the protests, it's not the commissioner, its not the officiating or the league rules. It's the knowledge that our team leadership doesn't care enough to do what is necessary to right the ship.

Ding ding ding! All of this other "stuff" are misdirection plays. The reality for me will never be altered...because the end game will remain the same with the way this organization is run. And people simply don't pay attention...that is WHY he can sell hope...what has REALLY changed in the last 20 years?

Absolutely, it starts at the top

This front office ate the cheese in the off-season.

And damned this season with their relentless frugality.

Even if Jerry fires Garrett, Jerry will hire JG's replacement. Best of luck to us.

JJ is only the issue because he fails to see JG is a fraud.

Actually, JJ has been the issue a lot longer than JG has been the coach. But I'm sure Jerry will get it right next time.

Well it isn't changing anytime soon so what now?

Stop getting your hopes up? That's my approach. I'll still watch the Cowboys because old habits die hard, but my expectations are low.

When I see fans mention "Super Bowl" these days my reaction is like Jim Mora saying "Playoffs?!"

I'm just glad to know good ol' Jerrah has his hands on things, focused like a laser on making the Cowboys great again.

Jerry is the problem because of the culture he creates around the coaching staff . Garrett can't even hire his own coordinators or call plays and even gets over ruled on who starts or doesn't . He's the NFL's highest paid cheerleader .

That's an accountability issue .

I wish I could "love" this post rather than simply "like" it.

and while he may actually fire Garrett, he wont hire anyone significantly better to replace him.

Im fine with the roster.

It always needs to improve and get better but i'm fine with it.

The problem is coaching.

No team should have a couple of injuries and have the sky fall in like we do.

Dallas needs different coaches. That will go a long way.

But Jones being the problem you say he is will probably just hire Jeff Fisher.
