Went to get my driver's license renewed today and sat there waiting for 2 hours and then failed the damn eye test. 54 years old and I guess I'll have to get glasses. I didn't even realize I had an issue seeing but I couldn't read those letters to save my life.
Oh buddy, I just learned my shoulder pain that I've had for 3 months is Frozen Shoulder... What the heck is Frozen Shoulder? Sounds stupid, honestly.
Just something diabetics get for no real reason.
Diabetes! The gift that keeps on giving.

I'm still rebelling against the fact I now need bifocals...

Frozen Shoulder... sheesh!

Ug...got bronchitis under control and in turn seems to have helped get my back feeling better.

But I still have a clogged ear going on a month now that is worrying me.

Doc gave me antibiotics and said to take it with my flonase...still clogged.
So then take Sudafed PE with flonase (2 days now)...Still clogged.

Last time my ear clogged like this it eventually stayed clogged to the point I know I have lost some hearing in that one ear. Once in a great while It will open up for a few minutes and I am shocked at how loud and clear things are and then it clogs back up. I got used to it to a degree last time...Don't know if I will this time or not.

Still hope it gets fixed. However I have a hearing test and Ear Nose Throat doctor visit in the next couple months with the VA.
Glad to hear that! ... sorry .. I said, "GLAD TO HEAR THAT!"

You have to look into a box type thing and I couldn't read line 5. I swear that lady was flipping a switch and making it blurry. lol
I was at the optical thingy just 2 weeks ago. He kept talking about occlusions and retinal clouds and I just blurted out "Am I going to die, or what, doc?!"
He said no and we were good to go.

Told him he can keep his bifocals...

It's hilarious at my house right now because my ear is clogged so I can't hear anything out of one side and my wife has laryngitis right now. So she is trying to tell me something and I am saying... WHAT

I remember hearing a comedian long ago say something like, "My idea of the perfect old age is my wife's voice losing its volume and my hearing going bad." :D

I'm at the point of my life where this quote is relevant:
We're a 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

I don't think it sucks getting old.

It's a mixture of good & bad, just like when you're young.

I have aches & pains & itches that I didn't have when I was in my 20's & 30's... Sometimes which about drive me insane.

But I work on my health in I'm not in much different (worse?) shape than I was 20 years ago.

Financially? No comparison. No debt. Could live just about anywhere I would like (but I prefer where I'm at now). I have an abundance of time that I have dedicated to things (books, hobbies, business) that I could not invest when I was younger and had more family responsibilities.

I'm not necessarily smarter but I'm certainly brighter when it comes to business and the understanding of human nature (sales).

I'm much better at saying "no" than what I use to be, so I'm far less apt to get roped into thing that either I do not have a lot of interest in or through my life experience know would not benefit me in the long run.

So no I don't think getting old sucks.

I think it can suck if one wastes their life experience and do not use it for something meaningful to them. I think it can also so if one does not take care of themselves physically... You're just asking for trouble as you get older.

A couple years ago my wife bought me a pair of reading glasses. They sat on the end table for months. One night I put them on and was like, "WTH!! Everything is so clear!", she just laughed.

Does VA do lasik, BP? Are you aware?

I just did optometry last month. I shoulda asked.
I believe what the POTUS just signed into law gives veterans the ability to go to a private practice for lasik procedures but the VA itself isn't doing lasik. I'm actually going to look into that because I'm not really sure and it's got my attention now.

And as for getting old, well it seems there is always a different body part that reminds me it is there. Obviously that is not a good thing. One day a knee is sore, or a wrist or shoulder or elbow. Something is always sore. I'm like that old classic car that always needs something fixed. It is always something

I had lasik surgery where they correct one eye for reading and one for distance. Works pretty well. It's a compromise though.

As for overall...I felt pretty good until past year. Lately I feel a bit listless, but it's probably more due to not hitting the gym.

Big correlation w/mood and energy level...so there's double reason for me to get active again...just having a harder time getting motivated to do so.
