It takes more than talent to win a Super Bowl

Jerry’s the GM in title only. McClay does 95% of it.
95%, funny, doesn’t do contract negotiations, doesn’t pick draft players, doesn’t pick coaches, doesn’t do trades, so he’s a step and fetch it guy but mainly head of scouts, or if he’s the real “GM” he sucks worse than Jerry. WM is in reality a parasite grabbing a check with no responsibility or accountability a great gig if you can get it and have no self respect

Sure what it seems like.

He does 95% of evaluating players based on input from coaches. I thought that was understood but apparently not.

So he’s the head of scouting not 95% GM, glad we got that cleared up

And therein lays the problem.

Dak is not a leader. He is a guy who studied how to be a leader. He can talk like one, but the mindset isn't there to actually be one. That fools a lot of people on the outside looking in but the teammates are going to see right through that. I'm sure it gets old hearing him get pumped up so much for being a leader then watching him perform poorly in the biggest moments.

When it comes to chemistry, Dak is a progress stopper.
and you know all of this because you have access to the locker room and players spoke to you anonymously...what a pile of &^%*(^

This is not a Dak thread so quit trying to drag it into the gutter. Jeez.
Rock, my friend. every thread anytime is about Dak...even when we discuss the punter, its about Dak, when we talk special teams, its about Dak. when we discuss revenue, its about Dak...let me demonstrate how they justify it

The Punter needs replaced, we had to punt!? Dak couldn't get a first down!...Dak sucks
the kicker missed 4 field goals, we had to kick a long distance field goal!!? Dak couldn't get a first down!, Dak sucks.

its inevitable with the Daksessed crowd.

How many guys on the team truly believe in QB4? He hasnt shown the ability to win when it matters. At some point the chemistry fades when there is no faith in the leader.
this is more the fans talking point than actually what's happening on the team....

this is not a defense of dak by any means, as I am sure you will try to spin it into, but you have no idea what the players think or what happens in the locker room.none.

Coaching and individual preparation is vital too. Dudes have to study their opponents and prepare and plan for each player they face for each game. Being conservative in big moments is also a losers folly.

I do. one of the players is my neighbour. yeah, then there is that. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
lol. Sure, pal.

I'm having breakfast with Dak and his family right now. Dak wants me to tell you the excessive use of emojis makes you look childish and ridiculous. Now that is leadership!

well said. great players tend to do a lot of film study picking up on little things from the opponent and their competition. Manning for example was legendary.

Players also will not give 110 when their QB1 hasn't shown he can deliver when it matters. Nonody strapping on a helmet that's not a rookie on Dallas believes 4 can take them to the promised land. And they are hating he is the highest paid player on the team/NFL. Everyone is a team lead or teammate at work. When a team lead fails or is mediocre how long do you support them? If you are that lead, how much pressure do you put on yourself to do better? In sports, you can't just be better like in business. You have the goods or not. Dak does not
how do you know all this? or is that just your wishful thinking?

Dallas won't contend until the middle of the D gets fixed. Dt lb s. And the middle of the O. C QB RB. Of those 6 we have 1 (center) and some possibles every where else. And I'm not sure QB is a possible. So far he has shown to be impossible in the postseason. One of the most important 6.
I agree that we have to get middle of the D fixed. I think its more than just that, because the LBs leave a lot to be desired and the safties are OK, not great.

the offense is going to come down to progress of Guyton. I am not worried about middle of the OL, as its strength of offense IMHO. I am not happy about Steele and been talking about him for two years. he hasn't been the same since his injury and for two years he has sucked, he has zero lateral mobility, but we are able to cover some of his warts with TE on the strong side. but if Guyton doesn't make a drastic jump and that's rare, then the passing game is going to suffer. with CD, Pickens and Turpin, we have players who can get deep, but if the QB only gets 2 seconds to throw, then its not going to work. I am sure somebody is going to read this as a defense or excuse for Dak, but that's not the intent.

Guyton's play is going to determine the offenses success, because its based on passing game and passing game requires a LT to protect the blind side of the QB and go up against the defenses best pass rushers.

No, I said Jerrys the GM but in name only. Will McClay does 95% of the work. Pay attention.
It's not that large of a percentage but yes, he uses scouts, coaches, and will McClay to make his final decisions, but Jerry still responsible for those decisions,

but you're right, people around here are thinking Jerry just wakes up in the morning thinking about bringing all these players as if he heard of all of them, that's not how it works, he gets lists and suggestions and then yes in the end it's on him if he wants to pay them, trade for them, or draft them. True...

I think that's the blowback you're getting you exaggerate too much it's not 95% but I also agree WM is more of the gm than Jerry is.

Jerry loves the public title, and he won't give it up, but in the end, he leans on WM more than people think....

I mean if they needed an example even in a draft room it was a room full of people voting and making suggestions even in the first round they had long debates on whether to take Booker or to take that defensive tackle I think his name is Nolan... The consensus meaning the room decided and Jerry agreed that Booker might have been the better player for this team at the moment.

That is how it works I don't like people here want to believe that Jerry doesn't really make all the decisions on his own. But rightfully so he is the one that has the final decisions on everything....

I’ve looked at this quote for 4 months and every time I do it makes me scratch my head why he’d word it like that if he didn’t mean it like that.

“I wouldn’t have signed Dak Prescott, the highest-paid player in the NFL, if now wasn’t when we wanted to win," Jones said. "This is a shocker to be here at this Super Bowl and not have the Cowboys here. I didn’t plan on that when I made that agreement with him.“
that's jones for you. spin it like nobody's business. he is shocked!? we haven't sniffed superbowl in 30 years and he is shocked. and if he thinks he can sign one player and bam we are superbowl bound team, then it speaks volumes about his lack of ability as a GM. ....you don't sign one player and then go get a bunch of trash and crap and expect a 6 star meal on your plate. Jerry is an idiot. or maybe we are idiots for even listening to him.

Not signing an older OT to play in case Guyton can't doesn't make any sense at all.

Yeah, Jones spews this crapp all the time. Most of us are simply immune to it.

If he seriously thought last year's team(with Dak) was a super bowl team, then then immense stupidity goes deeper than we thought. His inability to evaluate players/team has been the elephant in the room since he took over. He doesn't get it, and has proven that beyond any doubt.
