Hmmm, are you saying we shouldn't be OPTIMISTIC...

Of course not. You expect me to fall for the rah rah, gung-ho bull****? That would be very childlike and naive. Ever heard that "fool me once" expression? Prediction: Jerry and Wade will high-five each other after making a pick next April, and this board will eat it up. Again.

-We're one of the youngest teams in the league.
-With a new HC and new offensive and defensive systems we still went 13-3
-We were NFC East Champs
-We have tons of talent
-We have JG, which is one of the brightest young offensive minds in the game.
-We just signed HH as Oline coach. He also is one of,if not, the best Oline coach in the league.
-We have a owner who wants to win and will do whateva it takes to do so.
-We have plenty of cap space to make needed moves to get better.
-We have 2 No.1 picks to use to make us better.
-We have a franchise QB who only in his 2nd year starting set all kinds of team records and lead us to postseason again.

This is a very young and talented team and even tho that loss to the Giants hurt, we have alot to look forward to. The arrows on this team are pointing up. Heck, I'm excited for next season already... We're in great shape!!!
Great post and you are right the future is bright. This is a good time to be a Cowboys fan.

NOTHING is absolutely correct.. Here in Maryland, the monday after we loss, we were the topic and main focus of every sports talk radio show on the air. It was amazing!!! WTEM980 here in DC spent their entire day talking about us and it went on virtually all week long. That's just how HUGE the Boyz are, EVERYWHERE...

You do realise there were only two games for sports stations to talk about right?

Yeah, I realize that but not all day and then throughout the week. I could see that happening in Big D, it's their team and hometown. But to focus solely on the Boyz here in DC is ridiculous especially when their team got BLOWN OUT the week before..

I agree.

Add to this the fact that ...

1. Michael Strahan, the leader of the Giants D and its inspiration, is going to retire soon.
2. McNabb has seen his better days and the Eagles window of opportunity is almost shut.
3. The Commanders have an unstable coaching situation.

We should be ready to dominate the NFC East for a few years.

Maybe it's just me, but if I wasn't optimistic about the things the Boys were doing, I'd find it kind of hard to enjoy being a fan.

I know you're a Boys fan, but do you actually enjoy being a Boys fan?

Yep, but this is not the week (month?) for "forgive and forget."

Bah-could care less what our divisional opponents do.(I believe the Giants resigned Justin Tuck long-term, so they probably got their DE filled anyways)

Pretty much the entire league is pretty competitive. Who cares if we play 10-6 or better teams every week, or teams like the Whiners every week...with the talent we have, and IF we play up to our potential without losing our focus, we SHOULD beat anybody.

I'm glad you said it, I didn't want to waste my time pointing those names out. We're very young and only gonna get better...

Every good team has good young players -- people act here like we've got more good young guys than anyone else and point to "youngest in the league" as evidence. It just isn't a good argument because much of our youth doesn't contribute.

FYI-Flo is our only OLman that's 30 or over, and as we all know, OLmen usually have long longevity. And assumung Flo leaves, I wouldn't mind giving Free or McQ a shot.

Anyhow-I think we have a nice nucleus on that front for awhile.

I never said we didn't have a good nucleus - I said that it was stupid to point to how young the team was overall because many of the young guys suck donkey.
