So the idea is that there’s this big group of fans who let someone else dictate how they feel, but how can you call yourself a sucker when it’s obvious the Jones family isn’t going to change? They’ll own the team for a long time, even after Jerry is gone. We’ve seen with the Raiders that losing someone like Davis didn’t change much; not even Tom Brady’s involvement last year helped, and they arguably made worse mistakes than the Cowboys.
So why stick around, keep talking about the Cowboys, and still watch games? If you claim you’re boycotting, not buying jerseys or tickets, yet constantly discuss the team, it’s strange for someone who says they feel duped. If you really think you’re being played, you could cut them out completely—donate your gear, delete accounts tied to the team, block any social media mention of them.
But if you keep engaging, that’s on you.
They’ve never promised anything different; they’ve always operated this way. The irony is that it’s a choice. People spend time here talking Cowboys while insisting they’ve been tricked, but nothing’s changed—they’ve been like this for years, and we choose to stay involved.
If it’s a choice, you’re not really a sucker.
