It's amazing how the little things are flying under the radar in this debacle

Because of the high profile highly visible nature of this team. The main targets when a team struggles are Wade, or Romo, or TO. But the little things and lower profile people on this team have not shown up. Our special teams are awful. Our punter is awful. Our "little guys" are not doing there job. I am curious if you think it is because Wade does not believe in churning the bottom of the roster? Every non-starter, low and/or undrafted player should NEVER be comfortable. At this point in the season...with the magnitude of what is at stake....how can guys that are asked to do the little things...the simple things....fail to deliver. Covering kicks. Covering punts. Blocking for FGs. Not letting a punt hit you when we are NOT EVEN TRYING TO RETURN....heck we were not even trying to catch that punt in Pittsburgh....we were more than willing to let Pitt punt it and let them down it. It is incredulous how inept we are at doing the little things. But because this town loves to praise and blame the big fish....the little things go unchecked. We are the MOST PENALIZED team in the NFL. At what point will this team realize that WE ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH to overcome all the penalites?

I am just frustrated because it seems as if we are no longer a football team....we have become a reality show. As if everything is happening in a "outer body experience" Throwing the ball up for grabs is not what a professional QB does in a game of this magnitude....bad reads happen....that was NOT a bad read. It was, "maybe something magical will happen". Then to compound that...the WRs made ZERO attempt to prevent the pick. That is what SOUND FOCUSED FOOTBALL PLAYERS DO. They DO NOT make that throw...but if that throw is made...the WR tries to prevent the interception. But these kinds of intimate details are lost because little things don't matter when you are LARGER THAN LIFE.....like this team has become. That 3rd and 16 Newman gave up at Pittsburgh SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. It was so mind blowing that the ALWAYS positive Wade Phillips even called it out. The inability to focus for 60 mins is just puzzling. Almost as if this team thinks the games are a Hollywood script that have Dallas automatically winning at the end...instead of them TAKING THE GAME AND WINNING IT THEMSELVES.

I am just at a loss for words for how we lose. Never thought we would be 16-0. But to still be awful on special teams. To still lead the NFL in penalites. To still throw the ball up for grabs. As Romo put it "the struggle for 3 quarters to identify who is a DL and who is a LBer" by the OL. Continuing to snap the ball before ANYONE on offense is ready. This stuff is comical. This is not the kind of thing you see from teams focused and ready to fight for their playoff lives.

Good points. Wade did pick up Carlos Polk, who has made some good plays on special teams, but it is nothing like the revolving door we saw with BP.

Hmmm......Would that be The Ringling Brothers variety,or more like that Frou-Frou Cirque group? Or perhaps you were thinking that sometimes Valley Ranch resembles the "Monty Python Flying Circus"?

Most disappointing....is the OL IMHO.

Thought it would be more dominate....instead...its played below expectations and dumb penalities still continue.

Also...Was expecting more from Romo.....especially as a leader...I know injuries have taken a toll on him but before his injury he even stated that he didnt love the game like he should and then after his injury he did state that his love is back but his body language states otherwise.

I thought the Cowboys had picked up 4 ST guys in the last half of the season? Polk, Battle, Octavian, and some other guy....

And Battle has seen actual snaps at safety.

yes we did.

Our special teams has lost some of its best players this year, and our best special teamer is ailing in keith davis.

We didnt have carpenter and ball the other night and maybe that had something to do with them giving up the fake field goal.

Octavien forced a fumble, that if we would have recoverd and won the game he would have been a hero. Unfortunately we didnt recover it and the next play mcgahee killed us.

I watch the Bills lose guys every year and every year they seem to have great ST because of Bobby April....face it our special teams coach stinks and our Head coach is not helping matters by giving the team days off when they clearly need to be praciticing the little things that win games!!

I agree with what you are saying, however, I do believe coaching is a problem. And I can prove it with just one stat. PENALTIES. When have you ever seen a team go to the Super Bowl committing the amount of penalties we are committing? The penalties are occurring due to lack of discipline which stems from Camp Cupcake. This one is on Wade. Remember his comment when asked about penalties? "They had as many as we did. Penalties don't matter!".

Has anyone heard anything about Wade Wilson? As QB coach shouldn't he be taking some heat for Tony's mindset about throwing the ball up for grabs?

Agreed.

If you look at the Giants of last year it wasn't the big-time players making plays, it was the little guys. Toomer, Boss, Ross , Smith, Tyre, etc. all elevated their game to another level which enabled them to win games down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Ware can get a sack, James makes tackles, Newman needs to get a pick, Owens can score but guys like Choice, Scandrick, Carpenter, Battle, Burnett, Canty/Spears, Crayton, and Bennett, to namer a few, are going to have to make big plays to put the Cowboys over the top.

With the exception of Carpenter, every one of those guys have stepped up at various points throughout the season. I agree that they must continue to. Austin was wipe open Saturday night and Romo missed him. Our non-starters have contributed all season long.

Wade Wilson is a useless moron. He was the QB coach when Quincy was here and Quincy was here for five months before Wade noticed that Q didn't know how to take a snap from under center and didn't know how to throw a spiral because he gripped the ball wrong. These things were obvious to everyone but Wade never noticed them. What an idiot. BP got rid of him. The only one dumber than he was Jerry Jones who re-hired him after BP left. Jones is an idiot, too.

if the little guys are not making plays its the leaders on the team that get them to play better... that would not be Tony!

Wasn't Roy Williams on Special Teams also. He was probably someone who they accounted for as well.

ST needs to play better for sure, even though they are decimated.
