For the better part of a decade, going back to 2006 or so I've felt uneasy about almost every Cowboys-Giants game, expecting a loss and feeling like the Cowboys had only somehow "escaped' with a win, every time they did emerge victorious.
And why not? The Giants have been the Cowboys' Kryptonite since that gut-wrenching 2007 playoff game that still lingers to this day. Time and time again, the Cowboys simply could not get it done against their archrival, and especially against Eli Manning and Co., who routinely overwhelmed Dallas secondaries with the likes of Cruz, Manningham, etc.
This time, there's no such anxiety. I expect the Cowboys to crush the Giants with ease, 31-19, with a late New York touchdown and failed two-pointer making an otherwise 31-13 game seem closer than it actually was. And I felt this way already even before Cruz's injury - speaking of which, well wishes for his recovery.
Of course, I will probably feel ill if the Giants improve to 5-1 at AT&T Stadium.
The Cowboys did well by stacking up the early wins, because they now enter into a brutal ten-game remainder of the season that includes all six of their NFC East games. The good news is that even if they split them all and go 5-5, they'll still finish 10-6. That's what starting 5-1 will do for you
