I don't care who we catch. I think this team will be the type that will find that extra gear and clobber their divisional opponent. I also tend to think they'll take care of business pretty convincingly in the conference game, though I'm less sure about it.

The Superbowl? Whole other animal. Even the best can get caught out of step and lose by 3 TDs.

Yea give me the easiest opponents/path to the Super Bowl. I couldnt care less what opposing fans say if we're in the super bowl and their team is home watching...

not to sound like Nate Newton on Talkin Cowboys but "I try to tell people" or remind them, that in one of our SB years in the 90's we got swept by the deadskins, so its not like it aint happened before already.....so dont give me this "oh the midgets fans wont ever let us hear the end of it" jargon.....all that matters is gettin that 6th lombardi, dont matter how.....we get that #6 and cant nobody legit talk smack except the stealers, and we'd be on par with them.....

The thing that concerns me about Detroit is the fact we embarrassed them on national tv. We might have a tendency to underestimate them if they come back in here for the playoffs. They will also be pouring over game film of their loss and making all kinds of adjustments for us. The Giants, on the other hand, won't be making a lot of changes, it'll be up to us to do the adjusting. Then there's the bye week, we have no idea what effect it'll have on us. Would could come out flat and looking past Detroit, which would make us ripe for an upset. Against NY, OTOH, we would be more likely to come out stoked and ready put a hurtin' on the Giants.

Just saying.

You didn't read my post did you? You saw the phrase "have not been dominating opponents" and stopped reading right there.

First, I said, "have not been dominating opponents for an entire game.", with the bolded part being the whole point of my post. Second, the Browns won ONE game this year. Most teams dominated them. Most top 20 college teams would have dominated them.

In the Cincinatti game, the Cowboys dominated for 3 quarters, not the entire game. Dalton was 29-41, and threw for 269 yards and 2 touchdowns, no interceptions with a quarterback rating over 100 . You do not dominate a team and have their quarterback achieve those stats. You can beat a team whose quarterback has those stats, but you didn't dominate them.

As I said, the Cowboys have not been dominating teams for an entire game. They have had one or two great quarters against most teams, with a lot of those coming in the fourth quarter, which has greatly helped.

That is not a shot at the Cowboys or Prescott or the defense or any other area where some fan's feelings might get hurt assuming I have some sort of agenda, because I don't. I like this team. I have liked Dak Prescott longer than most other fans on this site and I have been optimistic when it comes to the defense this year. That said, thinking this team does not have weaknesses that will be targeted and possibly exploited in the playoffs by better teams than the Bengals, Browns, etc. is foolish and naive.

Again, as I said, in the playoffs, you typically need 3 or more great quarters of play to win games. Can you win with only one great quarter? Absolutely, assuming you win the turnover battle by multiple turnovers, especially returns for touchdowns, and/or if you score points on special teams beyond field goals. However, relying on one or both of those things to happen usually leads to a loss to an opponent playing conservative, yet mistake-free football. The most reliable way to win games in the playoffs is by winning 3 or more quarters.

I hear you, but a QB can have good numbers, and his team still dominated

The OP is scared of NY and GB. The best thing that can happen is NY and GB battle it out and the winner barely survives to play another day all banged up. Meanwhile Seattle beats Detroit and goes to Atlanta where another battle royale takes place and the winner emerges all banged up. We would dominate a banged up NY or GB team and then dominate a banged up Atlanta or Seattle team. We are destined to face the Pats in Houston, folks.

I pray you are right my friend, that would awesome:dance:

Don't worry about playing Detroit again, the Seahawks are going to beat them like they stole something:laugh:

we have to play new York again. to be the best you have to beat the best and thus year they are the best team we played. they embarrassed Dez and Dak. I want to see if they have championship heart. Stop trying to duck them.

Whether it's Seattle or the Lions that emerge victorious from that game doesn't worry me that much. The Cowboys will own the home field advantage throughout the playoffs. They should be capable of winning vs. either of those two as long as they play their game to their advantage. Control the time of possession, limit their scoring and do what we've been doing all year on offense (with a new wrinkle or two) and we should win.

It's pretty simple really -- just beat whoever they put in front of us and we'll do fine. This team is capable of doing just that if they come to attend to business and focus on their execution. Block, tackle, execute, run like hell and your chances will be maximized. I'm sure this bunch will be ready to be at their best for this playoff run. They have been all year -- they won't let up now.

We are the #1 seed... teams should fear us. Not the other way around. Everything has led up to this-- and we either capitalize on the opportunity or choke.

For me-- it does not matter who we play-- we can and should be favored in any matchup. Our homefield advantage should be huge-- and we should be healthy and well rested.

Time to prove it when it matters most. Focus, discipline, execution, passion and a fighter's mentality all need to be on display for us to advance.

This team has the guts and grit to win the whole thing. Bring on the challenge:flagwave:

Exactly. I like your style.

It's about us. Not them. We are the best team in the NFC. We've been the best team all year.
Now is not the time for fear. Bring it.

Maybe some fans are ducking. I promise you the players aren't ducking. The coaches aren't ducking.
As I've mentioned before, Dallas will beat NY by two TDs.... if the Giants even get by GB.

They didn't embarrass Dak. It was the cold weather that effected Dak. His throws were off. And the Giants aren't the best. Their offense stinks.

So losing by total of 4 points = embarrassment? In your world maybe. No team is gonna go 16-0. Unless you are the Patriots when they did it awhile back. So I guess the team you called the best, the Giants, were also embarrassed when they lost 5 of their games.

I said Dak and Dez were embarrassed, not the team. Dak playing the most important position on the team and getting swept by a division opponent, yes they both need that rematch. We can agree to disagree
