It's going to be a problem all year.

Drew Bledsoe is a good pocket passer but that's where the problem starts. The Cowboys line has struggled the last two game to keep him standing upright there. 9 sacks in the last two games. Is there anything Dallas can do to buy him a little more time? Could he roll a little and max protect one side better? thoughts?

He's not fat!

Actually, rolling out and max protect don't exactly coincide in strategy. You can pull and protect, but not really max protect. Bledsoe can't run very well so rolling often out isn't a good idea.

Seven sacks in one game. That's very bad.

Five sacks in the other four games combined. That's very good.

The Giants D had 7 sacks against Vick.

I'm worried. How are we going to protect Bledsoe?

thats the reason why i fear we will lose to the Giants. bledslow is gonna cost us this game because of his lack of mobility, among other things

the Giants really werent sacking anyone much before Vick...Vick causes alot of the sacks they get, then the PC/koolaid drinker people want to blame the OL (which opens gaping holes consistently for the run game) and say they cant pass block

the fact of the matter is Vick stinks...he cant read defenses fast enough, nor does he have enough accuracy to make people worry...if I were playing defense against them I'd never quit blitzing...he is by far the worst passing starter in football

The 2 sacks in the Texans game weren't bad - other than those times Bledsoe was barely touched.

If I was in charge he would be well protected holding a clipboard!!!!! ;)

the giants have not been putting up much of a pas rush all year. sacking vick is no big deal, just stand there he will run by.teams who keep him in the pocket usually get some sacks cause he can't pass for nothing.the shotgun seemed to help but the big thing is the oline just has to step up and play better. you can't change drew so the only answer is to protect him.we can scheme to help the tackles with osi and toothless but the middle has got to protect. not alot you can do to help the guys in th middle other than shotgun and keep a back in

Or I could say 5 sacks in 4 games, with one abomination.

Works either way.

Bledsoe is actually very good on planned roll outs to the right.

It's when it isn't planned and he gets flushed out to the right that he gets flustered.

Dallas67, Simply put, there isn't an easy fix for Bledsoe's mobility issues.

You have to trust that his strengths (e.g., experience, arm strength, leadership) make up for the downs (and sometimes yardage and turnovers) lost to extra sacks and hurries.
