AbsolutelyPost of the year
I think probably moreso than Cooper Rush. He had the head for the game, but sub par arm and sub par athlete. If Dak Prescott falls again, can Joe Milton carry the Cowboys?

In three of the last five seasons, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has failed to play a full season due to injuries. He has suffered three separate leg injuries alone over those five campaigns.
go look at the actual MVP votes then. An intelligent analysis of that will conclude he was no where near actually getting the award. What I dont do is just throw out stupidity and try to pass it off as inteligent analysis.
Rush has a similar contract. He signed for $2 million. One year. There are incentives if he takes 50% of the snaps in a regular season win, more if he does the same in a playoff win. He gets $10,000 for every game he’s on the active roster. What does that tell you?
Chargers also signed Heinicke and are paying him more. But, Trance is mobile and has a powerful arm. In the metroplex that makes him a future Hall of Famer. How did Jerry let him get away?
He can’t throw at NFL level like Lance or Rush. What’s funny to me is Milton is already way better than Trey Lance. And Milton is still a ways from being a QB capable of being a consistent NFL starter.
Doesn’t mean he can’t develop. But he has a long way to go.
Looking back on Milton’s career in college, he has always had a strong arm and is extremely athletic. But his accuracy has also always been a question. Part of his development is about him learning to not just bail the pocket and rely solely on his legs and making good decisions.
Rush got two years and $4 million guaranteed. Double what Trance got.Rush has a similar contract.
2yrs 6M
Both players make more if they play.
That’s how cheap Jerry is.
Grier is 1MRush got two years and $4 million guaranteed. Double what Trance got.
Dak had a brilliant rookie season and there after was good enough to get a record deal. And the band played onIf Dak Prescott falls again, can Joe Milton carry the Cowboys?

I have just a little more confidence in Milton than I had in Rush. I think Milton has a much higher ceiling and he hasn't reached it yet. Haven't seen enough of him to say he could "carry" the team though.
Probably just depends on the quality of defensive play. Honestly I think the the defense is going to have more of an outcome on the success of this team than either Dak or Milton would. Either QB thats in the game needs to be viewed as a bus driver that can take the occasional deep shop. Keep teams to under 20 points and this team is going to win a lot of games. Fall behind early and it'll be the same story that it has been the last few years.

You’re taking bus driver as a derogatory term when it really isn’t. By bus driver I just mean a QB who will play within the system, limit turnovers, and get your guys in position pre snap. For most championship teams that’s how you win. It’s typically just 2-3 games each year that a qb needs to be a hero. Team wins and losses typically come down to how well your defense plays and how well your offense can control the ball unless you have a QB on one of the extreme good/bad levels.I wouldn't say Dak is elite. But I believe he's a lil more than a bus driver.
How can a bus driver quarterback be a perennial top 10 quarterback when healthy, become an MVP candidate and an All-Pro?
Are there any other bus driver quarterbacks who are consistently placed in the top 10, became All Pro and a MVP candidate? I honestly can't think of any off the top, but do you know the names of other bus driver quarterbacks who've done these things Dak has done?
Correct. Bus driver has become a negative term and it shouldn't be. Brady was mostly a bus driver QB, and there is nothing wrong w/ that. You’re taking bus driver as a derogatory term when it really isn’t. I would classify Eli Manning as a bus driver who rode his defense to two super bowls over Brady. I also think there is a reason the cowboys have won at the same rate with either dak or rush at QB in recent years….we tend to overrate the QB position. Build a good team and you’ll make the playoffs with an average qb. Build a bad team with an average QB and you’re typically picking top 10 in the draft.
Alex Smith.I wouldn't say Dak is elite. But I believe he's a lil more than a bus driver.
