It's not bad enough we're facing the Broncos.

No, after displayed a 1 win, 1 loss pattern to start the season, now we face the most potent offense in a least a decade. And in preparation for our likely beat-down, we have to wear pink while it happens.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see an upset. This is the wrong week to wear pink!

I'm all for breast cancer awareness...but when/how did the American Cancer Society decide the other folks with other types of cancer don't count? And that the fight for cancer is gendered?

I know that isn't necessarily how the research internally is conducted...but the messaging is a bit perverse, imo.

Really? I don't think of it like that at all. My grandmother died from breast cancer because they didn't know. It's more about getting the word out there so that they can raise awareness to get checked out. So that people like my grandmother don't happen. I absolutely love the month of Oct for Football and think that it's creative and brings more viewers and women to the sport. People get bent out of shape over the dumbest things

Yeah, apparently breast cancer is more important than the others.

It has no place on the football field but it's just not politically correct enough for people to say it.

dont get bent out of shape, i dont want to cause you panic, but shes not the only one. I dont want to seem crude, but it was the women who screamed "treat us equal" now its turned to "everyone is equal, just some more equal"

i dont want to blow your mind again, but the drs dont always know everything. And just making it aware that only women die of certain cancer, well go look at the male side of it as well, how come no awareness from that, men die of it as well.

You cant make people aware of anything and everything when it comes to cancer, its a vile problem, but when the people who cure it dont know it completely, my knowing is not going to make a difference if i get certain cancer that is uncurable. Its going to sound crass, but its how i feel as well.

It's so simple to detect, all ya gotta do is feel for a lump, no expensive tests, Dr's, etc.

First of all I wasn't accusing you of being bent out if shape. But obviously from your post here and your disgusting disregard and minimizing my loss is just rude and disgusting. Maybe I struck a cord.

No it's about using a stage that reaches MILLIONS of people every week to raise awareness about a very real health concern that a little awareness could help see early.
It's not about sayin one cancer is more important than another. If you really believe that then wow your cynical.
If a few pink shoes and socks really upsets you so much from watching millionaires catch balls then I'm sorry.

It has no place on the football field and if you are still going to do it, you certainly don't single out one form of cancer. Cancer's cancer.

Maybe it's me, but when I turn on a football game it's to watch football.

It would be one of the first things I changed as commish.

I love football but I don't get care if they use the stage to promote awareness for things that are more important. There is still a game. There are still hot cheerleaders. Nothing changes but color of a few gloves and socks. I don't mind the time during commercials being spent on awareness for something important over bad beer and boner pills.

I'm a fan of the U of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team. They play one game a year in their pink uniforms. It's a big deal, with many fans showing up wearing something pink. But, after that one game it is over, and that is the way it should be in the NFL, IMO.

I don't mind the pink month too much but they need to mix it up some. First week is breast, second is prostate, third maybe colon and the last week maybe a heart healthy week or something of the like.

Breast cancer isn't more important than lung cancer or brain cancer or testicular cancer.

It also has nothing to do with NFL Football. Why don't we have pictures of starving children on the helmets next month. Maybe we can call in between plays and pledge our support for only the price of a cup of coffee.

It's wrong to bring it onto the field and it's even more wrong to single out one form of cancer. As if a breast cancer death is more tragic than all the others.

I wouldn't hold my breath. If they do another I'd bet on ovarian cancer. If you follow my train of thought here.

So something that doesn't effect you but may help a few people isn't worth doing because the stage can't be used for EVERTHING wrong with the world? Lol if that's honestly how you feel I'm glad you don't have a stage to use. God forbid they use a little time for a charitable cause that is not all encompassing. Btw http://www.nbcam.org/
There is a list of all the organizations that work with them as partners in cancer research.
