I wouldn't say brilliant, but I'd say pretty good.

It's only been in the last few years that I've gained more of an appreciation for 70's music.

I was too young in the 60's to experience most of that decade's music first hand, but during the 70's, for the most part I'd rather listed to what they played in the 60's instead of what they were playing in the 70's.

I had some 70's favorites but overall I'd would have much rather listened to the groups of the 60's.

And I greatly enjoyed the 80's. It's like I time-jumped over the 70's when it came to music.

But over the last several years I've gained an appreciation for all varieties of 70's music, especially the pre-disco stuff (not that I hate disco, actually I enjoy it, it's just that if there was one section of the 70's music I did enjoy it was disco).

I've come to appreciate the type of music folks like Leo Sayer put out. It wasn't the acid-rock of the late 60's/early 70's and it wasn't disco. And there were many bands doing similar.

Just in case anyone is curious as to why I titled the thread as such.....
1. This is Leo Sayer, yes the same Leo Sayer that had the disco hit later in the 70s with "you make me feel like dancing".
2. This song actually made famous by 3 Dog Night was actually written by Sayer originally.

I wonder what happened behind the scenes that kept him from releasing the song in the US? He hit #2 in the UK with it, then Three Dog Night covered it and hit #4 in the Billboard Charts.

Go way back...way back to Billie Holiday singing the blues...too sweet..."ain't nobodies business if l do"...I can only hope you like the blues!! Some birds were never meant to be in a cage..their feathers too bright and their songs too sweet!

Ahh, Miss Billie. My woman. She makes my heart sing and cry at the same time. One of my all time favorites. Here ya go. This is probably my favorite by Miss Holiday, although there are so many that I love by her...

Good Morning Heartache....
