I was the guy who mailed in the season 8 weeks ago when others had hope so this is strange coming from me, but I still believe we have a chance at this thing.

In a strange way, I'm glad we are facing Seattle and not the Giants. Assume we played the Giants at home and won; nothing would have been achieved. A win over the Giants wouldn't have really boosted our confidence.

However, if we can actually manage to win in Seattle, everything changes. The season starts over and our guys get pumped. Let's be honest, we lost to the Lions because of the previous weeks' loss to the Eagles. Football is a game of momentum and we had no momentum after that loss.

Right now, we have no momentum but if you can beat the Seahawks, the season starts over and it's anyone's game. It will tell our players that we can go into someone else's territory and beat them there. The media will suddenly be on our side and that will give the players an added boost of confidence. It will also re-energize Parcells and bring out the Bobby Knight in him to get his team fired up again. Parcells will get cocky again instead of being the gentle old Grandpa.

I'm glad we are facing the Seahawks because it's either do or die. If we beat Seattle, everything starts over and we have that swagger and confidence to go the distance. I really couldn't see that happening by beating a team like the Giants.

I think he got a little too cocky considering during week like 12 or 13 he's giving championship talks. CHAMPIONSHIPS? How about focusing on one game at a time and winning your division before talking about championships. Not to mention the championships he won were back in a different age of football.

I agree with you. If we are to win this weekend, we are going to need some breaks because I don't see Parcells getting fired up and becoming his old self. This year, Parcells has been overconfident and complacent. You can just tell even by his behavior on the sidelines. He just folds his arms and stares. Three years ago, he was getting in players faces and seemed more involved. Now, he is just laid back. I think Parcells doesn't have a lot of patience and he gives up on teams mentally. He did the same thing to the Giants after he won his last Superbowl. He is the type of coach that needs a fresh start to get motivated.

But if by some miracle, we win this weekend, I think things will change and it will re-energize the club. So I don't think it's over. I do think if we faced the Giants, it would have been a disaster. We would enter that gave overconfident and then lost or if we won, our team would feel like they really didn't learned anything. Beating the Seahawks at their home will tell our guys we can beat a quality team on the road in the playoffs.
