It's offical: Colts sign QB Philip Rivers

Has this ever happened before? A QB retired for that long coming back?

He is the only QB who could come in and hit the ground running. He knows their system well. Question is, is his body able? This is going to be entertaining

Andrew Luck would of been very interesting, I guess the cool part is you can see Rivers in 4k now on sundays :muttley:

He was going to be eligible for the HOF next year but now that resets.

How? The system he ran was many coaches ago.

The Colts offense was designed by Frank Reich and Shane Stiechen(Colts HC) in which Rivers ran while in San Diego. It is the exact same system from the Chargers.
He coaches his son's football team using the same offensive play calls, so it kind of makes sense since phillip and shane usually communicate weekly.

honestly he is very unlikely to make it to the HOF anyway
Depends on what you mean by unlikely.

If he doesn't make the active roster this year then he will 100% make it to the next stage which is finalist (top 15).

He won't make the Hall of Fame this cycle, but he will 100% be in the Hall of Fame he'll just have to wait which is fine, not everyone is for sure 1st or 2nd ballot lock.
