i feel really good about wilcox back there..

i don't feel confident about a lot of players on this team...

especially the older ,entitled , washed up players who everyone loves so much...

i'm loving this new churning of the roster.

this team needs a transfusion of young, hungry players who want to play ball.

I hear ya, but skill and talent also play a big roll. I'm not saying Wilcox isn't skilled and talented, but he is about as an unknown commodity as there is in the NFL. Having him as a starter this early speaks volume about the complete lack of safety talent on the roster more than anything. Hopefully Wilcox plays great and its a non issue, but I just don't see how anyone can feel confident about him right now.

There's a ton of confidence for a guy who has played like 15 games at the safety position in his life, and about 13 them were at the D2 level. Wilcox is for sure an athlete, but I'm nervous with him covering the back 1/2, especially with Church not being great in coverage himself. I understand Allen sucks, but Wilcox is no sure thing either and I don't see how anyone could feel good with him back there already

The rams have a TE that is supposed to be there best offensive threat, or so i have read on scouting reports. So it was said they didnt thin will allen would be physical enough to match him and that the cowboys may choose to put a LB on him, prorbably Carter since it would have to be a LB with speed.

However, im thinking that Wilcox fits the mold here and this may be the influence for giving him more reps with the 1's and starting him in base personnel this week.

we have a a whole roster of unskilled and untalented players on this team..

a whole lot of of them have been on the team for years.

Coach Kiffin requires speed and instincts out of his FS & SS back there and Wilcox has plenty of both and his instincts will increase with reps, no real complications in the scheme, just read and react, and react fast and with a vengeance. This is why I think JJ will be fine and eventually really good in this scheme.

The coaches watch the games, game film, and practices much more than we do and with eyes that are a sharper and better trained. They know what they want & what to look for. Will they make mistakes? Yes, but I believe this is a well calculated risk (it's only Will Allen that is being benched BTW). Sometimes we have to look through the trees and acknowledge the forest.

Sorry but you can't tell me that instinct.is a very big part of playing FS and then proceed to say that a guy who was a D2 WR 2 years ago is going to be just fine. Just doesn't work.

I think playing WR will help him because he understands what receivers do. Being able to see a route and react to it is why he catches on fast. Wilcox has me worried none, now if you want to talk running the ball or depth at DL/OL then yea that makes me worry. Romo going down makes me worried, Wilcox not in those worries

If Wilcox was in instead of Will Allen on Cruz's touchdown, I think it would have been incomplete.
Plus he ran across the field and almost tackled him before he crossed the goal line, had he been at FS instead of Allen that play must likely didn't happen and if so he catches Cruz. Tired of salsa dancing in our house, disrespecting the Star

A year ago he was playing safety. It was two years ago he was on offense.

Hope they are committed to this move for the long term because he will struggle from time to time, he will make some bone head plays and hurt us here and there as well. He will also make outstanding plays and get us all very excited about his future but putting him in there and then taking him out can mess with his confidence so I hope they just let him get through the growing pains without messing up his head, I love the move and really can't wait to see what Wilcox can do. If he is what I think he is we are going to have 2 young exciting ball hawking safeties for years to come.
