Has there been any more news on this?

He traveled. He's listed as questionable. Unfortunately Matt Mosely didn't/doesn't follow proper journalistic rules and get at least 3 sources when reporting a possible rumor. He got 1 source and reported it as fact. I will say that if the field is wet, then there's probably less chance of Newman playing

To be fair, most sports reporters don't get multiple sources. Hell, a lot of political reporters don't either.

I know, there's plenty of old-timer people in the Journalism business who gripe about it too. But it's the way of the internet now, when news is 24/7 and getting the scoop and being first is more important than being right.

PFT.com is the prime example of this.

Adam Jones Expected To Start For Newman
Posted by rphillips at 9/7/2008 12:51 AM CDT on truebluefanclub.com

For the first time since Dec. 31, 2006, cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones is expected to start an NFL game -- this time in place of Terence Newman, who is not expected to play in Sunday's season opener against Cleveland.

Newman (groin) made the team charter on Saturday but was limited throughout the week by a nagging groin injury he suffered early in training camp. He officially was listed as "questionable" on Friday's injury report.

With Newman out, rookie Orlando Scandrick would slide into the slot in substitution packages and first-round pick Mike Jenkins would fill Anthony Henry's right corner spot when Henry moves inside.

The Browns have their own injury problems in the secondary, with safeties Brodney Pool (questionable-concussion) and Sean Jones (probable-knee) limited in practice this week.

Ok I'm confused didn't Newman just say during the 3rd pre-season game that if the coach would let him play he would play because he was fine?
