Learn about nfl contracts guys

It's not a true 26M guaranteed

As I said earlier...Eagles can get out of the deal after one season..by forking over far less than 26M

Bradford is only getting 26M if he's still on the team in 2017.....

Again, not a true 26M

But didn't he make like a BILLION dollars for sitting on the bench 3 years?

It just proves how NFL teams are desperate for a QB. They'll pay millions of dollars for a qb that isn't even mediocre.

And in my mind, it only strengthens my resolve that the Cowboys draft their quarterback of the future at #4.

Otherwise, you're churning through guys like Kevin Kolb (great 2nd round find there!), Mike Vick, Nick Foles, Mark Sanchez, and Sam Bradford and spinning your wheels.

I remember being in that same boat after Aikman left and picking through scraps, question marks, and failed baseball players. Not a fun time.

When a guy like Bradford gets paid $18 million for one season, given his body of work? It truly shows the desperation league-wide.

I don't get the thought process. Vick and Bradford were the first overall pick in their draft. Sanchez was the 5th pick. How can it strengthen your resolve that we have to go QB at 4 when you use those examples of what you end up with if you don't?

I really hope you guys pick a QB at #4. The QB class this year is abysmal. I don't think any of them, even if they sit and learn for a while, will ever be any good.

At the combine, I watched Wentz barely able to consistently hit his WR in stride with no pads, no pass rush. It's sad.

Because all numbers show that your chances of getting a quality quarterback only get markedly worse the later you draft them. The first round isn't a guarantee of success, but it does give you a markedly better chance for success. We can take a look at where the quarterbacks in the playoffs came from for further proof too.

And let's again look at Bradford, the guy has been paid huge money since he was drafted, was oft-injured, traded away for picks and a player, including a 2nd rounder, had a mediocre season, and is still valued enough to be given $18 million for this season. Does his story alone not clearly illustrate the desperation for starting quarterbacks?

Given that, do you want to pass on the opportunity, significantly reduce your odds for success, and then risk being one of the have-nots who can't even get a quarterback of the level of Sam Bradford? As disappointing as the guy has been, you can't even get him if you wanted him!

On the bright side, it won't cost us three 1st rounders plus to get him. So we have that going for us, which is nice...
