This is all speculation of course, but its looking more and more like BP and Jerry are gearing up for 2007, not 2006. They are ditching the old (Glover, Allen, Keyshawn, etc.) and bringing in younger, more athletic players through FA and the draft. They are not spending a lot of FA money so they can be sure to resign Newman, Roy, and Witten in the next few years, and also to sign several key FA's next year in what should be a much better FA class.

We may not like it as fans, but its hard to find another solution.

I don't agree with that...they want to win now and in 2007. They just aren't going to overpay for FA's.

More like they are giving themselves options come draft day. If an OT is there move Kosier to G, if a stud G is there move Kosier to OT. If the OLB you covet is sitting there when you pick, take him and move Akin to ILB. If no one is there at OLB, leave Akin at outside and grab an ILB in the third or fourth round. It is called "leaving your options open". At least that is what I am taking from these moves.

It makes about as much sense as the Aggies in the NCAA post-season basketball tourney... :D

Sorry... couldn't resist... good hoops year for those Ags...

I don't think with Bledsoe at the helm you are able to look too far down the road. They want to win now and keep a good base of players to build with.

Nothing we've done or haven't done has destroyed my confidence yet. Would like a reliable kicker though.

Is Matt Bryant still available...anyone know? :lmao:

Bryant was resigned by Tampa 2-3 days ago about same time Vikes signed Longwell.

Actually watching FA developments so far and wondering about possibility Keyshawn and/or Allen not coming back, I'm also questioning their plans. But also agree we can't wait too long with Bledsoe & Parcells here.

Hold it ... I thought 2005 was the year.

Now you're saying it's 2007???

Even though I hate the Aggies, i think that they match up well with Syracuse and have a good shot to beat them

I really don't understand why fans are so easy to use this as an excuse.

We are 27 million under the CAP! I could understand if we were right against it or way over it like the Commanders :laugh2: , but, c'mon.

Pay an extra mill and get a damn kicker in here! It cost us at least two games last year and a sure playoff spot.

I think they're just plain blowing it to be honest. They missed out on a kicker. If they want to get younger at WR they'll have to draft one. There are no tackles in the draft that are sure things at RT. They might miss the boat on FS.

There's just no way to look at this as a positive offseason unless you're being a homer.
