Its time for the FO to switch up how they do QB

I can see them now, give us Mahomes with Pickens and Lamb and we get a RING, lol yeah right!! I've seen teams with less win more, the assumption that this will happen is not realistic at all
Im telling you right now, that last cheifs SB win had to be the least talented team I've ever seen win a SB. I mean they barely had a run and pass game. They won that on coaching and executing with what they had.

That eventually caught up with them even with adding rice to the wr group, but they were still one of the ugliest teams I've seen win a SB.

Could you imagine that happening here?

Yes I believe a 1st or 2nd rd QB can give dallas a higher ceiling than what Romo and Dak gave, either with a decent playoff track record over the years, or possibly a SB or two.

When you look at how low the bar is for QB so far over the years, there is no reason to not draft a dang QB high finally.
I cant wait until this happens!!

A quarterback must have a consistently accurate arm. Doesn't have to be a cannon. He just has to hit the spot he's throwing to.
joe Montana didn't have a cannon for an arm. He just hit the spots he needed to hit. We haven't had that since Troy.
Troy had it all, strong arm and deadly accurate. That's very rare, but it's not totally necessary.
Romo and Dak both have the same issues. They just present themselves differently,
Tony would come out and have a bad half where he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. we'd end up getting down 20 points by halftime. Then, you'd have the famous Romo comebacks. But only after, he buried the team sometimes too far to come back from.
Dak just has issues from throw to throw, some throws look amazing. The next throw is a 10 yarder that's totally off target. Dak also has to have his feet set to be effective. If he can step into a throw, he does OK but if he can't, he gets into trouble.
Romo had maybe the quickest release I've ever seen. that is what made him so effective hitting Witten In heavy traffic. Witten would do his trademark push off, creating a half yard of separation and romo would have the ball right there
Dak can't do that on a consistent basis.

The bottom line, neither one of those guys is gonna get a team to a Super Bowl that much should be obvious to everybody.
Both quarterbacks give their all for the team. But sometimes that just isn't enough.
It's time to break the 30 year drought. Put your duckets in the bucket and draft a damn quarterback.
I loved Romo but God, he was brutal to watch sometimes.

If you are looking for an elite defence then you will be waiting the rest of your life. There are no elite defences. You have good and serviceable defenses. And BTW that is a terrible excuse to make for a veteran QB that has been here as long as Dak has.

In fact, dak has had his fair share of serviceable defences of his many years here, regardless of how bad this past defence was.

Last season alone is no reason to give our QB a pass after he has been here for like 10-11 years.

Dallas hasn't been that bad on defense for that long.
I don't know, the Texans defense looked pretty freakin' elite to me. In a playoff game, they almost outscored their offense.

Opponents scored less than 21 points 14 times.

Looking at where the Texans defense ranks in passing, rushing, turnovers.......they are single digit across the board.

They are #1 in yardage, #2 in points. They have 3rd most INTs, 4th most fumbles taken away. They scored 5 TDs from fumbles and INT returns in the regular season, 2 in the playoffs so far.

Their opponents average starting position was the 27 yard line.

All true. But the first thing that needs to be done is hiring a real GM and getting out of the way. Until that happens, it’s all just window dressing.
The GM thing isnt happening. What confuses me about jerry is, he loves a big name in the spotlight that can put tails in the seats. Why not draft a QB high? Not sure how good Manning will be, but imagine drafting him. It would be the biggest hype around the fan base since Aikman.

Point is, I cant believe jerry has went this long Nickle and diming the QB position.

I wont call the Texans defense elite until they win the SB. They still have a ways to go, and that defense still has a lot to prove.

The minute that defense gets lite up in the playoff, all tones will change.

Some fans say they are not for drafting a QB high because they believe most times it doesn't work out....fact is it could work out, but the organization will never give the fans a chance to find out if it will.

When Daks *** is out of Dallas, the FO needs to draft a potential franchise QB high. 1st or 2nd pick.

If project QBs like Romo and Dak can only give the team a ceiling that leads to disappointment year after year, I dont mind the risk drafting a QB high.

At this point 30 years later, what the hell do we have to lose?

The younger QBs are showing that they are willing to assist their teams at the utmost highest level, even when things are not going perfect.

Drafting the experimental Romos, Daks of the world, and keeping these guys for the long wasted years that the FO does is freaking insufferable.
The entire history of the franchise is getting lucky with low pick QB's. Only Aikman is a real exception to this. Meredith, Staubach, White, Romo, Dak; none was a high NFL pick, for one reason or another. It's about time they pick their mere 2nd high pick in the 66 year history of the team soon.

Honestly, the first thing should be building up an elite defence. I think Dak is fine, but what all these elite teams have is elite defences. We aren't close to it. We could have had that if Jerry signed our key players earlier. But Jerry is a self absorbed narcissist who couldn't care less about winning, so we are where we are.
Dak has two years left.

Lit up?

Opponents scored 30 or more points just once in the regular season and the Texans won that game.

In that game, the Texan's last TD score came from a fumble return by the defense.

Therefore,

Even in the one occasion that the Texans gave up 30 points, they tried to make up for it by helping the offense with the scoreboard.

Seems close to elite for me.

I am not talking about the past. I am talking about the playoffs. We will see how they hold up the rest of the playoffs. That's when I will be convinced about their defense.

Based on the hype of the defense, they should cruise to a SB.

This team won’t sniff another championship until they draft a true franchise 1st round quarterback.

Go ahead..
