I'm often "taunted" by my assorted antagonists with how I need to "get a life"... my general response is some variation of "if you mean a life like yours, no thanks"...
But while posting something to the Cowboys' newsgroup, I decided to look up how many posts I made to that board over the years... went to Google, and it turns out that I currently have 29,771 posts to assorted newsgroups (I was also a little bit active in the Orioles newsgroup, and the Longhorns newsgroup)... I thought I'd be over 30 grand by now, but I was guessing a little high... no more than I post over there any more, it'll take me another couple-three months to get over 30k... maybe a little less, the draft will help...
Then I went looking at my post counts on the other boards I haunt, including this one... the Ranch Report has me at 6330 posts, but they jobbed me out of 5568 posts JUST before I went over 10 grand... I know it was just before 10k because I noticed one evening that I was at 9997 posts, and made a mental note to start an "adore me" thread for post 10,000... LOL... then I made my next post the next day, and instead of being at 9998 posts, I was back down to 4430... do the math...
So I actually have 11,898 posts over there... then there's Cowboys Central, which I only joined about a year and a half ago... I'm at 2773 posts over there...
And in here, this post puts me at 6650... so if we add them all up, it comes out to 51,091 posts to assorted Cowboys-related message boards... more actually, because there were a coupla boards that I posted to briefly, and they either folded or I found them not to my liking...
Now, I know there are folks all over who have more posts than that, many of them to just one board... no names will be named here, LOL... but I'd suggest that if you combine my post count with the long-winded nature of a lot of my posts, it's quite likely that no message board poster in the history of the internet has wasted more bandwidth...
Seriously, we all know that post counts do not define credibility on these boards, but to me they are a measure of just how deeply involved I am with a board... so I keep tabs on my post counts on all these boards, but until I went looking today, I hadn't looked up my post count to Usenet in a coupla years...
Truthfully, I wasn't really surprised to find out I was up over 50,000 total posts... I mean, I've been doing this practically nonstop for 8 years now... that's maybe 3000 days, tops... which works out to less than 17 posts a day... really, I ask you, is that excessive??
