They never should have given Gregory 94 to begin with. LOL. I could say they should have never drafted him. But all of that is hindsight. So they better learn from this. But will they.

Leave Irving with his same number 95. Let him have the opportunity to make that number somewhat legendary in his own right.

Well since I said it beforehand without any hindsight, I'll say it again. They should have never drafted him. Anyone who fails the combine drug test isn't worth the time and effort.

greatest number on D - 54 Randy White. My all time favorite player.
94 Haley and Ware.
72 Too Tall.
79 Harvey Martin.
50 Sean Lee
55 DD Dlewis

Just a few more awesome numbers and who made them awesome. But 54 is tops and always will be in my book.

Jaylon Smith will soon be mentioned with that #54

if a player's number can be 3 digits, Gregory should wear 420

If he keeps doing what he is doing it could lead to a more serious problem and he will have a series of numbers on his outfit, do you know what I mean?

DWare did say he wanted to play again and he is available...

Doubtful but based on some of his comments last year before the broncos Super Bowl, you could tell it would've been more special if he won one here. If he leaves Denver for whatever reason and wants to still play...he would be an ideal situational pass rusher.

His back is about as trustworthy as Romo's. :(

yes, we are so desperate for good players we feel a number will make it happen. Its like thinking if you buy better sneakers you ll run faster. Yet who wins the race, the guy with no sneakers. Irvin has to win over the coaches first. Lets start there instead of us "deeming" whos first round talent, lets see how many get that one.

Why would anyone want to change Irving's number at this point in the season? Why do you think he'd want to change it? #94 isn't a magical number.

That's why I asked, will this FO ever learn from the things they do.
They can never have a straight up draft without doing some head scratch type picks or trades. And they never work out.
As Jaylon Smith is still a way long way off yet...get on the field first, then we can say that was a great move, but until then, I put is the trying to be cute to out smart everyone category.

Jerry is very quick on giving legendary numbers only based on potential. He needs to take some of these numbers a little bit more serious and make players earn them. He did the same thing with Antonio Bryant.

I'm surprised he didn't give Dak #8

Now that David Irving is the hope for a pass rusher, Gregory should relinquish the 94 to him.
I agree. And then give Randy Gregory number 78 in honor of Leon Lett, another guy whose career was wrecked by weed suspensions.
