This guy better show something this season...

Think about it, he is facing a new DC in NY, a new DC in Philly (even though I will not miss Johnson I wish it was under different circumstances), and a 2nd year DC in Washington...

Okay "wonderboy" figure it out and scheme a game plan this season huh? Oh, and by the way...FEEL FREE TO RUN THE BALL WITH THE 3 RBs WE HAVE too...

2 of arguably the 5 best DCs in the game are out of his way (I count Capers, Phillips, and THE LEGEND IN PITTSBURGH)...hell even Kiffin is out of his way for game 1...don;'t know if he has it in him though.

He may be. He's been diagnosed with some form of cancer, if I recollect correctly.

He very well might be. Sean McDermott is the de facto DC unless Johnson has a miracle.

He's taken an indefinite leave of abscence to undergo treatment. Coming from a family of cancer survivors (including my mom and dad) I wish him ONLY THE BEST!

Didn't Johnson go through some of this last offseason as well? At least I thought he did, I very well could be wrong.

One thing I do want to say QC (gag on your acronym) is that it is folly to think the new DCs are easy marks and Garrett's job will be easy.

Sean McDermott is a good football guy who has climbed the ranks in Philly and is respected by that Defense. If he is the guy there, he is a Jim Johnson disciple and that team will be playing for Jim. They might be very motivated by his cancer.

Bill Sheridan is a football guy in New York. At one time he was a HC candidate in the college ranks. Granted not the pro game, but he is well respected. he has 4 years with the Giants staff and the LB Coach.

Greg Blache is a football guy too. 4 years as the DL coach with the Skins and an obvious move when they let Greg Williams go and he got some players this off season.

I would temper this "easy mark" opinion. A lot. But that's just me.

While Garrett could have called better games. I refuse to hang him for anything.

The players didnt execute. He cant make them execute. Owens dropped balls. Romo missed some easy throws. The line didnt block well.

A made play here and made play there CHANGES the flow of more than just a few games.

Garrett gets a pass this year and a few more. Players not executing are more on themselves and WADE.

Players didn't execute because they were being executed, mainly our qb...

Instead of looking at it with such a negative perception, how about realizing that he was going up against great competition at DC's last year. Not too many OC's have success against Jim Johnson. Romo torches him once per season.

If you're going to say he better step it up against new competition (which he should, and I think he will), you have to at least credit his tough competition last year.

No, they don't have to. Intellectual honesty is not allowed.

IMO garrett could be 500 better if he learned how to gameplan to his players strengths. impliment them slants and get austin in some motion. get choice and felix in some screens. this would be a dangerous offense. hopefully another yr of exp did him good. he clearly wasnt ready last yr to handle it all on his own.

Blame the refs. I think they need glasses.

But are their glasses half full or half empty??

Or perhaps half of something else.....
