I don’t fallow the NBA, but I know who Ja Morant is. Pardon my ignorance, but what ls the back story here? Does he have a criminal record that would disqualify him from owning a firearm?Dude is a complete and utter moron
He was suspended 2 months ago for flashing a gun on IG Live while at a strip club while on a team road trip. Pretty much all of that was either illegal or against NBA rules, but served his suspension, did some counseling, made a remorseful speech, etc.Still can’t figure out why he’s not allowed to have a gun…
Thank you, I did not realize. I appreciate you explaining it.He was suspended 2 months ago for flashing a gun on IG Live while at a strip club while on a team road trip. Here we are again 2 months later and again he's flashing a gun on IG Live. While it's not necessarily illegal to have a gun, we don't know his gun ownership status, he's waving a gun around while he and his friends are rolling down a street, which might be considered illegal if considered "brandishing". At the very least, it's very reckless and unsafe to do that and extremely dumb to do that after just getting suspended for doing a similar thing.
If he had just shown himself at a range safely handling and/or shooting a gun or just posing with a gun at home, that might be one thing, probably still too soon after the last time, but rolling down the street waving it around while playing fake gangster is outright foolish.
It wasn’t his gun. Waiving guns around doesn’t align with the image/brand of the NBA.I don’t fallow the NBA, but I know who Ja Morant is. Pardon my ignorance, but what ls the back story here? Does he have a criminal record that would disqualify him from owning a firearm?
Just trying to understand…
Nobody has said otherwise. He has also signed a contract where image and league reputation matter, and where a code of conduct was collectively bargained for by the teams and players. He literally has nobody to blame but himself and has no argument to make.Unless he is a convicted felon he has a 2nd amendment right to own a gun.
What's the over/under on game suspensions this time?
Yup! I can easily see that coming.Id probably say full season. He was given a lenient one after claiming he'd never do it again. He then gave the song and dance about going to rehab, which I'm not convinced that he did. So, the NBA should send a clear message to him.
