Dude is a complete and utter moron
The fact he did it twice tells you all you need to know. I don't agree with stifling his speech and expression. But if he was suspended once already and did it again, that tells you he's slow to learn.

And the fact that it cost him $39 million, shows he didn't learn his lesson. He had a clause in his contract that would have been eligible for a supermax contract, if selected to an All-NBA team. The first incident certainly affected the vote, but the second incident is going to wreck his sponsorships and marketing.

No one is stifling his speech or expression, but no one is going to be willing to pay him to be a fool.

I don’t fallow the NBA, but I know who Ja Morant is. Pardon my ignorance, but what ls the back story here? Does he have a criminal record that would disqualify him from owning a firearm?

Just trying to understand…
Nothing illegal here, first one he likely took a gun on a plane to get it to a road game strip club but no evidence. Did a whole rehab and apology tour then did it again weeks later.

Id probably say full season. He was given a lenient one after claiming he'd never do it again. He then gave the song and dance about going to rehab, which I'm not convinced that he did. So, the NBA should send a clear message to him.
I dunno about a full season but it's got to be at least 40 games, or just about half a season.

I guess Nike has already removed his logo from their app, which is what they did with Kyrie before canning his contract.

This is the definition of hypocrisy. We kill with mass shootings using military assault weapons and do nothing because we worship as God the "right to bear arms". Then when a Melonated man has a hand gun we want to incriminate, and destroy him for the very same worship of the God "right to bear arms" America created.

Has he violated the law? If so arrest him. If not, he needs to sue the NBA for violating his freedom of religion.

That's not really what's happening. He's going to be punished for not honoring his end of a contract that he signed.

It's not any more difficult than that.

No contract voids out the US Constitution in America. If he signed a contract to not have the right to worship their God "Right to Bear Arms", then you do not have a contract to begin with do you?

But that is just like a hypocrite trying write a contract to circumvent their constitution. I thought he signed a contract to play basketball? Ignore my AR 15 in the corner before you sign.

Is now a good time to mention that a .223 is NOT a military assault weapon or should I show myself to the door? :muttley:

Anyways, that is an apples to oranges conversation. Morant did nothing wrong as far as his rights go and this is between the NBA and himself and the image they want to portray.

Unless he is a convicted felon he has a 2nd amendment right to own a gun.
1000%. But he needs 2 be educated on whats ethical and what's not. The guy is erratic and needs taken aside and counseled.

You are right. I do not have a clue and he is not a victim.

I have the answer and the victims are dead and dying every day because of HYPOCRISY like these views.

He is in a video with a hand gun. Purchase legally, in his possession legally, and mass killing no one even though he can by law by a weapon of war and go to do what we should be focused on stopping others from doing.

Yes answers and victims.

Someone needs to bring Michael Vick in to slap him around a little and talk about how many millions he lost because he thought it was more important to hangout with his boys. The total is already at $39 million salary lost on his escalation clause and counting. He’s going to need every cent because if he’s dumb enough to do all this, his money management probably isn’t far behind.

As long as idiots try and treat a weapon as some kind of sentient thing that can fire on its own instead of focusing on those that pull the trigger, little will get done.

Yeah, and uphold the image of the NBA by not getting involved in conduct detrimental to the league. That’s in his contract. End of story.
