Jaelan Phillips traded to Eagles

Whether trading for him would have been right, wrong, of indifferent.......it sure must be nice to have a GM that works full-time to actively improve his team's roster.
be careful, you'll get named called for not blindly supporting our Jones'.

I definitely agree.

Not so much with this. I think they’d be lucky to get a 5th.

I think the better move would be an extension.
Somewhat interesting question this raises.
I do think they may try to keep him, and Nolan Smith will be coming up for a new deal soon. I doubt they could sign them both.
Good problem to have I guess.

And Roseman is crafty enough to give the team an ‘out’ in most every contract he makes.

Phillips has 3 sacks and 7 QB hits in 9 games this year. A contract year for him too.

Are the Eagles picking up the remaining $6M of his contract for 2025?

Eagles 20th in Total Defense: 18th in passing defense. 19th in run defense. 18th in scoring. 3rd in redzone. 28th in 3rd down. Made three notable moves at the trade deadline.

Cowboys 31st in total defense. 31st in pass. 29th in run. 31st in scoring. 28th in redzone. 32nd in 3rd down. NOT DOING NOTHING!!!!!!!!

I don't know this for sure, but I did see an article that said the Dolphins were paying most of his remaining salary for 2025.
I could see that as I felt a 3rd was a steep price for a potential rental.
It makes some sense that the Eagles were willing to pay the price of the 3rd but got the Dolphins to pick up the remaining money, but again, I am not privy to the details.

One team is first place in its division, top of the conference (for now), vying for playoff positioning and hoping for a first round bye. The other is the Cowboys.

Can't fault the eagles for trying, but anything they do is heighten for them. Its SB or bust since they are the defending champs.

If the Eagles had LB Overshown and CB Revel coming back next week, would the Eagles have made those trades?

Definitely not in my opinion.

Definitely not an endorsement of his abilities at this point.
I live in the Baltimore Area and their sports talk people have nothing but bad things to say about him. It almost seems the guy has checked out of football and is looking for teams dumb enough to keep paying him.

Living in that area, do you ever get tired of crab/seafood?

Not a huge seafood eater but you put a good crabcake in front of me its ball game. But when I do eat seafood its either crab cakes or rockfish mostly.

And you think Jalen Phillips is a “proven commodity”?
Compared to the alternative of what we have? Yes. Phillips has proved he’s a solid DE in the NFL.

I don’t value our draft picks as much as you do, I’m not ready to hang on to them and draft another one-legged defensive player
