And that’s the point.I would’ve loved Phillips and don’t mind the pick
It’s the contract next year you have to give up
I bet they find a way to re-sign him. It’s a higher price than I would be willing to pay for a half season rental.
I’m glad it isn’t Dallas paying that price.
Thank you for bringing up Pickens. I was about to do that myself.Yeah if we made that trade the board would have said we where fleeced. The Eagles traded what we traded for Pickens for a half season rental.
I’m honestly shocked that a team that’s out of it essentially having a fire sale was able to get a 3rd round pick for a guy who’s only under contract for another 8 games.Side note, teams are not giving away players. The only way the Cowboys get any of the top guys is their first round picks will have to be in the deal (Crosby, Simmons, Williams). 2nd round pick + for Trey Hendrickson.
He’s making $13 million under his option year.I bet they find a way to re-sign him.
If we only had 1 3rd and 1 4th and 1 5th I’d definitely feel differently about this. But…This
I believe they had 3 3rds and multiple other picks
$6.6 million at this point but I wonder if Miami is picking up part of the tab. He’s making $13 million under his option year.
Think he’s worth that?
Exactly. It also looks like he was at best under Fangio in Miami. I see why they traded for him. If he stays healthy it looks like he's going to be a nice addition back under a competent DC and lining up next to Davis, and Carter.Talented player for sure, but that injury history is not good. If he stays healthy Philly gets another good piece.
If he leaves and signs an average deal they get a 4th back. If he signs a top of the market deal they get a 3rd.Define ‘some of it’.
They’re certainly not getting a 3rd round comp pick.
I guess we’ll find out…$6.6 million at this point but I wonder if Miami is picking up part of the tab.
Doesnt make sense for us unless you sign him long termIt’s a higher price than I would be willing to pay for a half season rental.
I’m glad it isn’t Dallas paying that price.
Absolutely. I listen to a few cowboy podcasts and most of them had floated the idea of trading for Jaelan and taking him for test drive. But, Howie, of course, went out and actually did it.If he leaves and signs an average deal they get a 4th back. If he signs a top of the market deal they get a 3rd.
At worst he's a half year rental that they spent a 3rd on and got a 4th back. All while Miami is paying a portion of his salary.
Low risk signing.
I don't know the player. It just seems like they find a way to do what they want. He’s making $13 million under his option year.
Think he’s worth that?
Just wait… Jerry will overpay for a worse playerIt’s a higher price than I would be willing to pay for a half season rental.
I’m glad it isn’t Dallas paying that price.
