if he couldnt make the Jaguars as a WR, there is no way I would want him here.. no offense, trickblue.. but the Jags have about the worst WR corps in the NFL.. their best one is a QB..

Oh, no offense taken...

I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised since he is a veteren, and at one time had a little something going...

Actually I would rather stick with what we have. I would hate to release the next Jimmy Smith just because we wanted a veteren in, but you know Parcells doesn't like playing young guys if he can help it...

Why?

This is his 4th team in eight years.

How will we make room for him AND Charles Rodgers?

I am OK with our current receivers. Impressed, actually.

I don't know, I think Matt will actually be a pretty good deep threat soon in Jacksonville. Bennett has had a 1200 yard season in Tennessee. San Fran, Bryant isn't really a #1, but he is still OK.

Philly is the worse, they have nothing, absolutely nothing out there, they don't have a #1 and might not even have a #2.

I believe Boerigter was cut a few day ago too. I'd prefer him to Edwards, but he apparently isn't on the BP radar.

He might be an option. If I am not mistaken Troy Edwards has sinilar skill set to Terry Glenn......quickness.

Up until Rector emergence none of the WR on the roster had showcased a skill similar to Terry Glenn.

He is with the Colts already.

I'd rather not deal with a former first round bust who has flopped with every single NFL team he has played with.

I believe this fits with the "holding back progress" analogy.

ah, this is the second time today you have disagreed with me.. but i dont care as long as i have that lovely lady to look at right under your name.. :D

anyways, though, I think that Reggie Brown will end up being a pretty good WR.. and I agree with you on Matt Jones.. and Bennett I am not impressed with at all.. those 1200 yards were largely due to the fact that the Titans were playing from behind all year, and he was the Titans' only guy once their rookie Brandon Jones went down.. Brown, Jones, Bennett, Bryant.. all those guys are fairly equal.. and all the backups are equally bad.. you could make a case for any of them being the worst..

That'll be a BIG no. Troy enjoyed his best years while he was playing down the road at La Tech. He's been a major disappointment as a pro. He has speed, but average consistency catching the ball.

Nah, I'm not disagreeing at all. All of them are terrible, just trying to rank how terrible they are, lol.

I figure Bennett will have a 1000 yard season this year, and Matt and Bryant will be close. Guess we will have to wait and see on Brown, but he hasn't done anything to make us think that he has all that much potential yet.

I agree with you though, they are all pretty bad in general, so it really doesn't matter, lol.

I honestly don't know how one can say that the Jags have a terrible WR corp.

They have the following, as it stands today.

Matt Jones - 6'6 229 lbs. 2nd year
2005 GS 1, 36 catches, 482 yrds, 13.38 YPC and 5 TDs

Ernest Wilford - 6'4 218 lbs. 3rd year
2004 GS 3, 19 catches, 271 yrds, 14.3 YPC and 2 TDs
2005 GS 8, 41 Catches, 681 yrds, 16.6 YPC and 7 TDs

Reggie Williams - 6'4 214 lbs. 3rd year
2004 GS 15, 27 Catches, 268 yrds, 9.9 YPC and 1 TD
2005 GS 7, 35 Catches, 445 yrds, 12.7 YPC and 0 TDs

I guess I just like these three young WRs better then most. I see these guys putting it together and this team being very dangerous at WR in the coming future.
