If he can even find a role on ST, then I'm a happy fan.
He has the athletic grade and skills, but we have all seen others with the same abilities fail in translation to starting roles.
All I'm doing is kicking the tires with players under current contract on this team, I'm hoping as well that he finds a role.

If he makes team, just like he's played special teams before that's what he will be, any thing more than that is a win win for both the team and himself. Talk bout a RKG. Even if he wouldn't have changed to safety I feel like he'd be considered to battle for the No. 2 job they seem to really like him.

I've never understood coaches having players change the side of the ball they are playing in the pros. I think that slows your progress even more.

I'm surprised they didn't move him to WR, I'm a fan of college QB's moved because they understand coverages quicker, IMO.

One of the greatest safeties to wear the star was Charlie Waters who was a QB at Clemson. He was was converted to CB and failed miserably. They moved him to safety and he flourished. The key to his success besides his athletic ability: he was very smart.

How smart is Showers?

He was a good CB until injuries robbed him of his speed. That's why he was moved to safety for the most part.

That is the point of late round picks and udfas. Conversions rarely work but recent history shows that success rates are going up.
