I know Jason Witten is still suiting up for the Cowboys however James Hanna needs to get the ball more in 2013... Dude runs a legit 4.5 at 6'4 250lbs and his hands is better than people were claiming.

His hands are small, but wow he almost never dropped anything thrown at him.

Would love to use him the same way NE uses Hernandez.

Absolutely. Guy is one of those tweeners that is a matchup nightmare. It would be a great failure on JG's part if he is not given a lot more touches this year.

Starting in December he saw targets in every game (7 catches in the month of December and 1 in all other months) so I think if anything they're at least going in that direction

It was a failure on his part last year that we didn't see more. We need to see a ton more of Hanna this year. The guy is a stud.

I hope to see a more active Hanna who can make big plays, no doubt Witten is still money and a guy Romo will look to. Hard not to when Witten comes through more times than not especially when trying to convert 3rd down.

I doubt it will be a ton when you have a target like Dez and Witten. I do hope Hanna role increases but there is only 1 football.

He caught 27 balls his senior year of college and caught 8 last year. Him not playing early on wasn't a Garrett issue.

Especially when the disappointment of Vickers and the lack of a gamebreaker at #3 WR.

I know...that's why next year it would be a "great" failure, and not just a regular one :laugh2:

Agreed. I think we are going to see a lot more of him out there.

i think he clearly took over the number 2 spot. i hope he spends the off season working very hard on blocking and catching. he brings some nice stuff to the position and will get alot more reps but he has to improve his blocking and that comes down to how bad he wants it. if he can do that he could be a nice player for years and maybe step in when witten hangs it up

Gee, he had a hobbled Witten and a porous OL. It isn't a failure that he didn't put Hanna out there. Hanna was a rookie who projects as pass catching TE but not a strong blocker. TE is one of the more complex positions in the league, you can't just throw a guy out there and have him perform the blocking assignments correctly from day 1.

Hanna did get on the field more after our line play improved. We saw Bern pick it up in the second half and the Parnell/Free rotation doing some good. That's when we started being able to put the pass catching TE on the field.

Agreed.... He definitely needs to work on being a complete TE but they should get him the ball regardless.

They need to use him the way the Bronco's used Shannon Sharpe. I think he can be every bit as good as Sharpe was and they should line him up at the WR position at times too. He could be a match-up nightmare. Garrett needs to be more creative.....

Only 807 more receptions to catch up with him!

remember a guy named alexander? he ran a 4.25, was 6'3" and 220. he once scored a TD in 4.9 seconds, which I think is an NFL record.

he couldn't run routes. he couldn't get separation. he wasn't a football player.

Witten run a 4.7 4.8. he rumbles, yet he is one of the best NFL TEs.

speed and size don't have a lick to do with you being a football player.

now, tell me how hanna is a football player.

thank you. if garrett doesn't put star dust on a player and magically turn them into All pros because they can run a 4.5 40, then its JG's fault. like you said, tell me how they are a football player?

That was Randal Williams, not to be confused with Alexander Wright.
