James Washington vid

He and Sutton are my two favorite WR's. Get either and KeKe Coutee in the 4th and our offense just got a whole lot better.

I like Washington a lot. He always seems open, but his route running scares me a little bit. I don't want another guy who can't learn half the route tree, I don't care how big he is, how great his hands are or how fast he runs. Speed and size are great, but everyone is fast and big in the NFL. A guy I love in the mid-rounds is Cedrick Wilson. My Wahoos toasted Boise but Wilson was uncoverable. Best player on the field, hands down. Not exceptionally big or fast (6-3, 4.55) but very quick and a FANTASTIC route runner who averaged 19 yards a catch over a two year career. If you want a polished receiver who gets separation and has nice hands, Ced Wilson is your guy. He can probably be had in the third or early fourth too. This guy will be ripping the lid off the defense wherever he goes.

There is something special about this player.

He does several things really well.

The concerns:
Often minimal separation. Many college WRs get extreme separation especially in highlight videos.

His QB is better than most WRs in the draft. It might make him look better than he is relative to other WRs.

You know who looked all-world from his college highlights? Terrance Williams.

I wouldn't touch Washington for this team anywhere before the 3rd/4th round. Marginal athlete, limited route running experience, vertical reciever with 4.55 speed.

no he didn’t.
Agreed. Devin Street looked like a "polished router-runner" just like T.Will did as a deep threat. I'm not convinced that any team outside of Dallas saw T.Will as a day-two talent. If he was in this 2018 draft, he'd be talked about as a day-three pick.

Washington, on the other hand, is a day-two pick talent all day long.

Meh, pass on him.

And you're thinking Washington looks like a great route runner, lool? The point is you both are getting fooled by these Big 12 wide receivers arguing one is better than the other as if they really aren't the same guy.

You’re posting stats, not film. Williams tape was mediocre

An off week at the senior bowl pumped a lot of brakes on his rise imo... I saw him struggle getting off press from smaller school Dbs during that week of practice
Maybe a solid pick up round 3 ish??

"lool"?
Slow down and read it again, rhinestone Cowboy:

If you still have a question about what I posted, then I'm down to explain further, but at least come correct.

I wouldn't touch him before the 3rd. I think there are WRs that have a higher upside than him - St. Brown and Chark are two that I think I like more because of their size and upside. I think Washington has a ceiling some others don't have.

The idea that a WR that had nearly 2000 yards receiving had mediocre tape is laughable.

I think what's happening here is that people who are now soured on Williams are using revisionist history on what he looked like coming out of college.

Last year, I remember seeing dozens of fans go crazy over Ryan Switzer’s highlights at North Carolina. Some of those highlights were against teams like The Citadel and James Madison.

Using College highlights as the main measuring stick for a player’s value is vastly overrated when you realize too many highlight plays are against guys that will never sniff the NFL. It can be fun and it can show the player’s ability to make certain plays, but a grain of salt needs to be added when the highlights are against a ton of players not close to NFL quality.

He is a glider. PLENTY FAST. He is never ran down after the catch. He has what I call functional football speed. No offense to Dez..this kid runs better routes and has better hands. Whats more is the guy is playing the game the way it should be played, hands the ball to the ref..CLASSY.
No offense to you but i doubt you are truly qualified to speak intelligently on Dez's and Washingtons route running ability.

It may suck but this dude is 5'10, thick, and runs a 4.5. He's not running past corners at this level.
