Jamie Collins to the Browns

shefter says the Patriots are trading Collins to Cleveland for a compensatory third round pick.

I am surprised, I thought Collins was one of the Patriots core defenders. Regardless, I just don't trade for Patriots players. It seems like they never approach the level of play once they leave Belichek.

Yeah kind of wish Dallas gave the Pats a 3rd round pick for him.

Collins is really good but had been falling out of favor for some reason. Was he hurt?

Anyway, Cleveland has a TON of 2017 draft picks, so it makes some sense.

Gotta admire the way Belichick, et al does business.

Collins is at the end of his contract, demanding a long term deal in the hundred mil range, even though he has stopped being much of a force in the run game (business decision).

So what do they do? Unload him in Cleveland, for a 3rd round compensatory.

He should love that.

Gotta be something to this. This was why Chandler was moved, to sign him and Hightower. Would have loved to have woken up to Dallas giving a 3rd for him!

Chandler Jones has 5 sacks, 2 FF and 24 tackles and is currently on one of the best defenses in the NFL, so maybe that's one of those rare trades, but he's doing alright.

Chandler Jones is killing it in ARI, Talib is a star in DEN, Wilfork is still a fine NT in HOU...Revis was fine last year....might have lost that step this year

Wow, that is closer to a 4th....we will sign for big bucks in CLE or net them a 3rd orund comp if he leaves......no FAs willingly choose CLE so it is a smart gamble for them
