I don't disagree with you...but, that first quarter was brutal, maybe jimmy coaching it doesn't. Troy threw some horrible passes. I don't know how you coach that. And of course the obvious PI on Deion I think we win that game, no one was stopping Emmitt at the 10 yard line

Yes the INT's killed us. But we actually had a shot at a comeback. If I recall, didn't Switzer "accidentally" bump an official and get a big penalty which killed the drive? Again, jmo, I really believe that Jimmy would have had the team better prepared.

Man when you consider what we have now, I think Switzer deserves a little more love and respect than what you guys are showing him. I'd take him in a heartbeat today.

The sad part is that we have not even been to the conference championship game since then.:(

20 years and all we have is a pair of wins on Wildcard weekend...........2009 against Philly and 2014 against Detroit...........that's it the past 20 years.

"A man's got to know his limitations"........................Clint Eastwood as Harry Callahan

I agree. Switzer did not come in here and try to reinvent the wheel. He just rode the Ferrari as far as it would take him........to a SB victory. One of the few coaches, along with Jimmy, to have a NC ring and a SB ring. If only the current "brain"trust knew their limitations as well......this world would be a better place.

BTW, my fondest memory of Switzer was him sitting at the end of the bench DURING a game eating a hot dog. Dammmm that was cool. :muttley:

He did keep the team together after losing the 94 NFC title game thought our championship run was over then. The Cowboys needed that third championship to solidify them as the team of the 90s so Switzer does deserve some credit.

Have we been that much better these last 20 seasons that we could be smug about it?

Detroit won more games than us last season.

And let's be honest here, if all we have to cheer ourselves up is we're not Cleveland or Detroit I think that's pretty depressing.

You can choose to be a fan and cheer and root and be entertained. Or you can choose to let the game overtake your emotions. Love the Cowboys, but i have bills my girl my job, life to worry about then to sulk in 20 yrs lol. Put your man pants on and stop crying.

Took the Steelers 16 years to return to the Super Bowl and 25 years to win another.

It happens.

Talk about sleepwalking through a second half. As sweet as the victory was, in that game, you could tell the fire had gone out of that group of players.

I didn't enjoy that SB at all. After the game it was all about how the Steelers blew it not that the Cowboys won it. I was more relieved than anything. Looking back I wish I would have enjoyed it more. I sure enjoyed the other 2 in the 90's.

That's how far we have dropped. Instead of comparing ourselves to great teams, the only thing we can do is say "oh well, at least we aren't the Browns." Well, we got pretty close this time.
