He gave him two huge raises in this career. The first was when Jerry unloaded the cash, because the Ravens were going to destroy their own franchise by signing him.

People don't remember, but after he was getting exposed, Jason was about to be hired by the Rams as HC. But the FO got inundated with angry calls from fans, so the 'hiring' became a rumor and it was squashed immediately.

Majority of folks on this forum actually did. They blamed everybody, other than Garrett. If you go back on the forum, you'll find post after post of this nonsense. Many of them were Romo-haters.

Many of these Romo-haters openly jumped on the bandwagon when they needed excuses for their mediocre QB, who never played as single snap under Garrett's play-calling. Dak basically cried when Garrett bounced and opposed his firing. Garrett was probably a huge part in the 'political games' to keep Dak starting, because no real HC on the planet would have done it.

The games Barkley played under Garrett, he looked like garbage, before the injury. I laughed when people were saying the RG would improve, especially considering Barkley is a home run hitter, not a guy that grinds out yardage. Barkley gets plenty of negative yardage runs, which would be exposed even more with a play caller as awful as Garrett. Their HC fired Columbo after five games LAST YEAR, the guy whom Garrett brought over. The RG was dead last including yardage and attempts when that firing happened. Rumors were that Joe took the running game over from Garrett and Columbo and improved it.

No, we don't think the Giants would become some 'powerhouse', but we do know that if you want your offense to rank dead last in pretty much any category, it will happen with Garrett, who in one year of coaching and two more games for Daniel Jones, got 13 less TDs thrown. Jones in his first year with Garrett threw 11 TDs in 14 games, while the year before he threw 24 in 12 games. And the INTs were at 10 or 11 both years.

Its amazing, people on this forum that have been on here long enough, have selective amnesia, are pretending like they didn't lavish praise on him for years and blamed everybody else but him. The Garrett-bashers like you, were basically a handful.

People just don't get. Columbo was brought in by Garrett. Judge was already PO'd last year with the running game when they were the worst in the league. This is the same exact thing Wade wanted to do with Dan Reeves, i.e. bring in a baby sitter for Garrett. In fact, you see the same type of issues, where Judge wanted a completely different OL coach, but he had to hire Columbo as part of the package with Garrett. Wade, per reports, wanted Solari was OL coach, but Garrett wanted Houck. If we had gotten Solari, we would have been running zone blocking schemes from the get-go.

And you know the biggest kicker of it all. Garrett, during this time frame, was throwing his players under the bus, saying they were young and didn't have much experience. Of course he failed to mention that there was no problem when Callahan, whom he also feuded with, as OL coach here and got guys like Frederick and Martin was all-pro the moment he walked on the field.

Bro, most people were throwing everybody under the bus for Garrett. That 'group' was a majority of this forum. They've latched on to the Garrett excuse to defend their favorite players that weren't here pre-2014, when Garrett had the play-calling in his hands. Wade was considered a joke and you still see remnants of "players play hard for Garrett' even today, though that statement was made to say Wade deserved to be fired and the team gave up on him. That now 'excuse' is a remnant of that era.

There were a few guys like you and @Chocolate Lab that were bashing Garrett.

So many inaccuracies surrounding 'the legend' of Garrett. He was brought in as a third string, like his brothers to this organization, because of their Father Jim Garrett. All three of the brothers ended up with a roster spot, just like they ended up with coaching gigs or jobs in the scouting department.

Jason Garrett played all but one year under Norv Turner. He was NOT a disciple of Norv and in fact, the majority of his career here was spent with the shuffling of OCs trying to repair the deteriorating offense. Garrett played more under a washed Zampese, for FOUR years in Dallas. Then Gailey came and called the plays. He had two years under Gailey.

On what planet does a third stringer, who just got a roster spot, the last year of Norv's tenure here a disciple of Norv? People keep acting like he's trying to run the 92-93 offense. How is that even possible taking into account these circumstances.

He called him out in his own sublte way in his autobiography, particularly around the Football Team game, which was the first game of the season in which Wade was fired. The play he spoke about was the fumble by Choice to end the half.

Interesting. I'm going to have to look that up. You wouldn't happen to have a link to that passage by any chance?

If Urban Meyer bails out of Jacksonville - the Jaguars might grant Garrett an interview.

I’ll try and track it down. An article posted portions of it when “Son of Bum” was released.
