SAN FRANCISCO – Former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is getting ready to wrap up his fourth season as an analyst for NBC Sports at Super Bowl LX.

In January, Garrett interviewed with the Tennessee Titans for their head coaching vacancy, which was filled by Robert Saleh. That begs the question, does Garrett want to return to the sidelines?

"I'm just really living in the present and enjoying what I'm doing," Garrett said when asked if he was finished coaching. "I get a chance to do some college games, I get a chance to back up [Mike] Tirico on some NFL games and then do our stuff on Football Night in America on Sunday nights. Just really enjoy all aspects of it. I love playing, I love coaching, I love everything I've done in football."

As for the team that Garrett coached for nine seasons, he still keeps up because of his profession and the relationships he still holds in the Cowboys organization. When reflecting on the 2025 season, Dallas' #2 overall offense stood out.

I love Jason but this is PC babble: "Just really enjoy all aspects of it. I love playing, I love coaching, I love everything I've done in football."

As long as he remains an analyst and stays away from the Cowboys’ sidelines, I’m fine with that. Frankly, I think he fits better as an analyst than as a coach. He’s terrible as a coach.

Does he want to lol does anyone want him

It’s tough to overcome coaching in Dallas in Puppet era. Only if you’ve had some previous success.

Will be tough for anyone to surpass the success Garrett had here. He’s one of the best puppets we’ve had.

We certainly haven’t had anymore playoff success since he left. And only Landry has more team Cowboy wins.

It translates to the following: "I realize now that nobody besides Jerry Jones is dumb enough to hire me let alone keep me for a decade despite clearly not being up to the job, nor even qualified for it to begin with."

What’s even sadder than Garrett’s 10 year tenure is 4 other HC’s cumulatively ( Gailey, Campo, Phillips & McCarthy) over 15 years had no more playoff success.

I'm disappointed that he didn't mention that it's a process. He's slipping.

Oops, nevermind. Read the whole story and he did mention process.

Since I stopped blaming the coaches for our failures, I look at Garrett in a new light. I still think his offense wasn't creative enough in creating mismatches, but if the front office had done a good job of roster building, especially on the defensive side, the offense was good enough at times for us to succeed, probably at least making an NFCCG.
