Let's say Garrett got served his walking papers Monday morning. After yet another 8-8 season Jerry had enough and decided to move on.

Where would he end up? In what capacity?

No shot he gets another HC gig, right?

Ever is a long time. If he starts out as a QB coach, he's young enough that he could start moving back up the ladder to being a OC and maybe a HC. It would takes several years though.

Anything is possible. I just don't see it.

It's apparent postion coaches are more a result of connections than anything else. His brother ended up WR coach in Tampa Bay. JG will find something. Honestly, he's made his money and can stivk around football in some capacity irrespective of his incompetence. He may be good at some things in certain capacities that he can fill a niche. He's truly lucky though.

He will get interviews for Head Coaching jobs, no doubt about it. The perception around real NFL people is not that Garrett has a wealth of talent to work with and a brilliant GM that he has failed. Former coaches in the media continuously point out our lack of depth and that Jerry has not setup a winning environment.

He's proving game by game that he cannot handle being an NFL HC. So that is out.

OC? I think he's burned those bridges too

The open market will be a slap in his face. Although he's probably smart enough to know that.

He'd end up an OC, or he'd maybe drop down to college. He'd have to put in a few years in that capacity, but he'd be a consideration for interviews for small market openings eventually. He'd interview well and get another shot at some point. Fan opinions in Dallas aside, he's got a really good reputation in the league, and several prominent former and current coaches have alluded to as much.

Meh, who knows? Mike Martz kept getting jobs long after he started getting his QBs murdered.
