He mention they can play man to man and they can rush around the edge. My only question would be, does this mean the Cowboys going to run the ball more and setting up play actions?

I must commend Jason Garrett also for being more balance in this game but I believe the Raiders on Thanksgiving would be too much of a test to Cowboys to say Jason Garrett is doing great. But I have to say it was better play calling. A whole lot of plays I seen was least expected and I believe that is what happened to Oakland, some plays they least expect and that's the way it should be against every team we play, which I think should be different based off of the team weakness and strengths.

Yeah but is jason aware of what they did to romo, they kept romo in the pocket and made romo throw to beat the giants.

I say some screens or qb rollouts to get romo outside the pocket is needed some too.

I don't know if he is or ever wil be a great coach, but I can say his demeanor and the way he speaks to the press is miles ahead of Wade.

I really like the philosphy he described in his interview as well

Great Point. Romo needs to be Romo. But I think the running game needs to be more in effect with Choice and Jones early and Barber late.

As today's designated Grammar Cop, I am citing you for the a/n transgressions:

1) Jason Garrett reconizes what Giants is going to do: WRONG
Jason Garret will recognize what the Giants are going to do. Still wrong, but not due to grammar.
2) He mention they can play man to man and they can rush around the edge. WRONG
He mentions that thay can play man to man and they can rush around the edge. First part is still wrong as injuries will not help them in a man to man situation. As for rushing off the edge, did you not see the whining on the part of a certain DE? While not grammatically incorrect, it's still wrong.
3) My only question would be, does this mean the Cowboys going to run the ball more and setting up play actions? WRONG
Does this mean that the Cowboys are going to run the ball more and set up play action passes? Better, but it will only work if the Boys can sell the run first.

Here's a quarter. Call your English teacher and tell I want a word with her!;)

Regarding the play action passes; where are they? Even when we are running the ball well, I don't notice much use of play action. Maybe, I've just been overlooking it. Do you guys think play action is utilized enough?

BTW, I'm not ragging on Garrett for this, just asking the question.

I don't know what Garrett is going to do, but I'd sure as heck get CC Brown is some situations where he has to make a decision about who to cover. Bunch formation, anyone?

Good question and grammatically correct as well. Nicely done, Mr Dixson.;)
Play action can help slow a pass rush, provided you can sell the run first. Maybe we'll se more of that against the Giants. This might be a question for the coaching types out there. I think the screens that the Cowboys use are for that purpose as well.

I didn't notice much of it either. In recent seasons play action pass has fallen out of favor with me.
JMO - But it appears that defenses seem to play with more players at the LOS. Too many potential rushers a few yards closer to the QB.
A traditional PAP has the QB turn his back to the defense putting himself at risk. He also losses site of the players not rushing who are in coverage and what they are doing.

The benefits don't appear to out weigh the risks and detriments of PAP anymore.

Now I'm not saying we should abandon it all together. It still works. I just think we should use it sparingly. I like it out of a 2 TE, 2 Back, 1 WR set. A power formation that gives the defense a run look at the snap with plenty of potential blockers to protect our QB in the event of a blitz.

What I dont understand is, why is Choice running the QB draw/ Wild Cat? Especially with a fullback in the game. I think Felix would have taken that 60 something yard run to the house.

The bigger question is why isn't Felix and Choice on the field at the same time in the WC formation. Do what Miami does with two RB threats.

Play action works best when the QB is under center. When Romo is in shotgun, and he is in shotgun alot, play action simply won't work.

Is my grammar OK?

The Razorback is still a work in progress. It is very basic when compared to the Dolphins, who spend a ton of time in practice on it.

We may see a few more wrinkles in December that we, or opposition defenses, haven't seen yet.

I my grammar OK?

We need to do exactly what we did the last time we played the Giants minus the turnovers. We ran the ball down their throats for over 250yrds. Oh yeah, and we need to cover MM better but I'm sure our secondary can handle that. They're playing much better then they were earlier in the year...

Did I watch the wrong video? The one I watched was Garret being philosophical, not talking x's and o's

If the Giants play man-to-man, I'm not worried. The Raiders played man and our offense performed really well. Miles would be a huge beneficiary of it. It is the zone coverage that gives the Cowboys fits...

Indeed. The near pick against the Raiders intended for Crayton is a perfect example of it, that should have been an easy pitch and catch.

I think a lot of the problem is that this offense is over-thinking...and I don't mean to harp but that comes from Garrett.
