What Garrett means by perspective is blaming the defense for not generating 40 TOs to give his offense chances, while the offense just plays conservative the whole game...

No real need to discuss anything.
Monday night all questions will be answered.
All playoff discussions will be flamed or extinguished.

Can't wait for the day JG is out of Dallas struggling to find a job somewhere. He'd be a good politician though.

A bad team will win this division. Losing 8 out of the last 9 games, including games to some real stinkers like NO, TB, PHI, and NYG suggest that we aren't even close to being in the mix. There are only 2 teams in the league with a worst record than us. Wake up.

Panthers, Falcons, Saints, Buccaneers were saying that last year at this time too. One of them has to win the division. We were all sitting here laughing, and saying a 5-11 team would win that division.
And there were many threads saying how we may get screwed out of a playoff spot having a better record than any of those 4 teams.

Only for us to win the division, as well as the Panthers winning their last 4.
Yes, we do not have Romo, so that reduces the chances, but stranger things have happened.

Like last year after the T-Day game loss, most fans had us where we are now...out of it, and the Eagles winning it. Only the Eagles imploded, and we all of a sudden with our backs against the wall, won and won, and went on to win the division.

Not saying that will happen this year, and most likely it will not happen. As I think we will be lucky to win 1 more. But one never knows.

When they win one game without Romo, he can say something..... until then, reality is he can't lead his team to a victory without his starting QB. A bad team will win the NFC East, but it unlikely to be a Garrett led Cowboys team..........

Nonsense. We're in this position despite not winning a game without Romo. He can say whatever he wants because it happens to be correct.

I agree, though, that it's unlikely the Cowboys win the NFCE this year. We're two games back with 5 to play. But that's not what's at debate here. We've got two games against the Skins still, and NY has some tough teams on it's schedule still and also stinks. Which is why we're in the mix.

LOL, good one Idgit

Although I want JG fired, what else is he supposed to say, as bad as this team is, he´s right.

It's kind of a trivial comment, really, when you think about it.
I'm certainly not counting on an NFCE title at this point, and I wouldn't be excited about it if it were to happen anyway. But the facts are the facts. The NFCE is in a shambles this season.

Reality is, if we win this weekend, we're inexplicably one game out. If Garrett were to pretend that's not the case, he wouldn't be doing his job. The fans are just going to have to accept the simple math for what it is.

You are correct on the math and the math will get easier and easier every week. However, we lost 7 games in a row without Romo this season. There is significant justification for the fanbase to be skeptical of the team being able to overcome a two game deficit with only five games remaining. I understand that JG has a job to do and part of that involves keeping the team motivated. I get that and I respect that. But, given the performance of the team this year both with and without Romo, and looking at the remaining five games, I have zero confidence that they can overcome that two game deficit to win the division. I will have no problems admitting that I am wrong if that is the case.

Oh, I agree. There's plenty of reason to be skeptical until the Cowboys win a game. I don't have zero confidence, because the team really has been a play or two away from winning most of those games during the stretch. I could see us beating WAS in a a rivalry game and then getting luke warm from there and making a race of it just because WAS and NYG suck, too. I'm not predicting a Cowboys division title here. Only acknowledging that Garrett's right to say we're somehow miraculously still in the mix in a very bad division.

That this Cowboys team - without Romo - has a chance of winning the NFC East.

If you would care to wager otherwise, just let me know. I've heard enough hollow talk this season to last a lifetime.

I will wager that. He spoke the truth. Deal with it. We are winning this Sunday. We will be one game out of first (as unlikely as it is, that is the hand we were dealt, why throw it away?)
We can then beat GB who is also 1-4 their last 5 games, so are you going to say that game is unwinnable?
We can/will be tied for first with 2 or 3 games to go. I like our chances in THIS division

Yeah! Because a REAL coach would've publicly thrown in the towel!

(Someone's really, REALLY stupid here and it's not Jason Garrett)
We could beat the Commanders twice (we won't) but no way we go into GB with our garbage squad and beat them, let alone Buffalo and NYJ.

Nope - I'm still pulling for the highest possible draft pick that even our braintrust cannot screw up.

Yup, what he said is accurate. But, by the same token, the backlash has to be expected given the kind of year we have had.

Even though I believe there is no way the Cowboys are making the playoffs, and deep down I believe Garrett doesn't believe they'll make the playoffs, he has to say this. No problem whatsoever with what he said.

I just want a TD in the first 3 quarters. Have only done that in 2 out of the last 7 games. Or at all - 3 of the last 7

Jason Garrett is many things but "grade A stupid" is not one of them. If you insist on tearing the man down, you can at least be honest about it. His mistakes as HC of Cowboys are too numerous to be ignored and just call him stupid. Perhaps your complaint would have merit if you focus on his true failures rather than making things up. Maybe you could talk about his poor ability to evaluate talent or his refusal to plan for the future... just a few suggestions to steer you in the right direction. As a well established academic scholar, one of the weakest arguments you can make about Jason Garrett is saying he is "class A stupid". Have a nice day. :)

Maybe he meant "football stupid" :)

Personally, I just think JG is insane. I mean a guy who directs incompetence like he does week after week and still keeps on clapping like he does, whether a play goes good or bad...I mean he kinda reminds me of the Burger King guy on the commercials :)

We've thrown more than that.

Unless you mean TDs to players from *our* team. In which case, your numbers seem about right.
