I will wager that. He spoke the truth. Deal with it. We are winning this Sunday. We will be one game out of first (as unlikely as it is, that is the hand we were dealt, why throw it away?)
We can then beat GB who is also 1-4 their last 5 games, so are you going to say that game is unwinnable?
We can/will be tied for first with 2 or 3 games to go. I like our chances in THIS division

What's the wager?

Put something of substance out there. As I've said I've seen and heard enough hollow words with nothing behind them.

Reality is, if we win this weekend, we're inexplicably one game out. If Garrett were to pretend that's not the case, he wouldn't be doing his job. The fans are just going to have to accept the simple math for what it is.

I wouldn't pretend that's not the case. I just wouldn't say anything or take the Garrett plea of "It's a process" or "We're just trying to win this game."

It's silly for the coach of a team that is 0-7 in every game it's played without its start QB to even entertain the notion of winning the East at this point, no matter how weak the division is. It's the cart before the horse.

I wouldnt even mention division title. The words wouldnt come out of my mouth.

I would bring up looking at and evaluating , all players and coaches and water boys, performance, behavior and character.

That this Cowboys team - without Romo - has a chance of winning the NFC East.

If you would care to wager otherwise, just let me know. I've heard enough hollow talk this season to last a lifetime.

Me too -- talk like this just angers me at this point. You had an opportunity to show this team's will to win, to show that it learned how to do the little things correctly that mean the differences between wins and losses. This team failed every single challenge that was put in front of them. Every one.

Exactly, and all of this "we'll get 'em next time!" nonsense is just that, nonsense!

The thing is, all of that failure is factored into the 3-8 record already. You don't get to count it twice.

We haven't failed every challenge yet, because we still have challenges left. Look at the common opponents between us and WAS. This is a very winnable game this week, even without Tony Romo.

Why is it nonsense, though? Because you're unhappy?

I'm not saying we *will* get them next time. But why are you writing off any chance that they could in fact turn things moderately around? That Dez couldn't make that third down catch in Tampa? Or Williams not get the tricky tack OPI flag in PHI? Or the defense make one more play v. SEA? Or the DMC touchdown not get removed v. NYFG? Or we not blow the overtime coverage v. the Saints?

Like it or not, these games have come down to single plays. We're looking at some fairly questionable teams on the schedule still. There's no reason to assume that just because we haven't won some close ones yet that we can't win them in the future.

I actually can't wait to see the demeanor of the team Monday. It's going to say a ton of the coaching staff.

That's it. I'm calling it. We're winning the East.

This bum needs to go. We are not, and should not hurt our draft status thinking we actually have a chance.

If only Carolina would have beat our brains out instead of beating our brains out and breaking our qb.
I would feel much better with tony getting 11 days off and still in the running.
Such is our season this yr, lots of ifs and buts.
Frankly, I would not expect anything else out of our head coach than to fight till there is no hope left.
Like idgit said, as long as the math works Jason has to keep on keeping on

Because it's untrue.

Because I'm seeing what's actually happened, not what I hope it would be. I see the team that can't win without Romo. I see the team that is underachieving all over the place, not the one that I wish was still in the hunt.

Where is any improvement coming from? What spots on the team have been getting better?

Like it or not, these games have come down to single plays. We're looking at some fairly questionable teams on the schedule still. There's no reason to assume that just because we haven't won some close ones yet that we can't win them in the future.

No, like it or not, we are that "fairly questionable" team on everyone else's schedule. Teams are now only too happy to be playing these Cowboys. The only people thinking they're anything but a bottom feeder reside here.

How many times do people get to be totally wrong before anything they say is simply noise?

It's a lost season and an epic letdown. Unlike others, I can face it.
