I know most folks don't like him, but I love listening to Orlando. Every time that dude opens his mouth I'm cracken up. He toys with the reporters and you don't know if he's serious or not...

"He looks like a Damn Machine, he ain't even human". Hahahahah. That was funny if you watch the hidden sarcasm...

Hatcher versus Ratliff in his prime, who wins? Throw the biasness out the window and give me a straight, non-biased answer.

dude did you completely forget last year? its not his fault he was stuck behind that lard spears.

He also looks like a poster boy for a player who benefits from a scheme change. He's given full license to pin his ears back and create havoc in the Kiffin/Marinelli D. I never got the impression his responsibilities as a 3-4 lineman freed him up in the same way. I'd say it's less playing for a contract and more a guy who's finally in a scheme that fits his skillset.

yea..some players do..but i think hatcher's playing hard cause he wants to win.

i get a different feel from him that i did not get from a few other players on this team who were playing for a big contract.

Any more, it's so hard not to be cynical.

Marinelli is not the missing link. People said the same think about Hudson Houck, they are just coaches. In the Tampa-2, the job of the DL is to get sacks, not to stop the run, so they have one job. I am sure, if all players around the league were just allowed to play the pass rather than both, sacks would increase league wide. I don't believe that all of a sudden, Marinelli, shows up, and players become superstars. a 31yr old DT, all of a sudden is putting together a great year, and his contract is up.....But that couldn't be a coincidence...

LOL call it what you want. Its not not Hatcher thats turned it up a notch. Selvie, Hayden and the rest of the Dline have also contributed as well. This thing that coaches don't matter really needs to go out the window. If coaches didn't matter than why weren't we able to win with Campo? Coaches matter dude. If you don't think so than thats your choice. I for one think that Marinelli is the best thing that has happened this off season. If you don't think so its fine with me but I beg to differ.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Hatcher's play has improved with his conditioning. He looks physically like a different player than 2 or 3 years ago.

Might be worth resigning. The problem is Rod makes guys look better so Jerry might think they can plug in anyone in that position and get results. Hatch seems to be a leader too so maybe that will be a consideration.

Gotta like hearing that…But I don't at all agree with the lack of leadership. Ware, Lee, Witten, Hatcher….

Witten is in his own little bubble and his concerns are for his game. Ware couldn't put his baby daughter in 'tme-out' if he had to.....he doesn't have it in him. Lee........I'm personally still waiting. His play reflects it but I really haven't seen it stand out, IMO. I'm not there day in and day out so this is speculation form a fans POV but there are leaders that are there on game day.

Who on this team holds anyone accountable? I see them celebrate with each other when a play is made but I don't see players getting after each other for a dropped INT, missed tackle, blown coverage. Or a dropped pass, whiff on a blitz. Have you ever seen anyone tell Witten to get his $#!@ together when he drops balls or is offsides.....again? Heaven forbid. Tony will get on some people but isn't consistent, IMO. Kick a lineman in the teeth for taking a huge hit.

I don't think it's that. But I do think if Hatcher was sucking up the joint, folks wouldn't be praising his videos. They'd be telling him he needs to shut up and play better. Iol

I've always like Hatcher tho. He truly is a good dude for all intents and purposes. So it's good to see him finally get some shine.

i was one of the few defending him tooth and nail when half of CZ wanted to cut him for speaking from the heart and questioning whether we had leaders on the team.

Re-read my post, I said the Tampa-2 wants its DL to rush the QB, hence the term rushmen, not play the run. Rushing the QB= more sacks, more sacks=bigger contracts. I didn't say coaches don't matter, I just said he was just a coach. A HC and Coordinator are different than a position coach. They have a scheme, and the coaches implement it. The scheme has changed from a 3-4 where you had the OLB getting all the sacks to a 4-3 where the DL gets the sacks. I think you saw why Campo failed as a HC, when he came back and was coaching the DBs, he was/is a terrible coach.

If the scheme didn't change and Marinelli came in, and this happened, then I would agree it was 100% him. But that is not what happened.

I would say it is a tie between Hatcher and Free as who the most improved player is this season.

This is good.. we can generate a good pass rush on the inside and on the edge and we have capable line backers and safeties.

hatcher is straight up balling this year.

rod is making these players actually play beyond their abilities.

it's been fun watching their progress week after week.

He's straight up balled the previous 2 years as well. Few people noticed.

Free in a heartbeat.

Hatcher was a beast last season. And was great in 2011. Nobody noticed.

Free was awful and has been excellent this season.
