People get enamored with certain players and the myth gets perpetuated. And since you don't hear from the NFL scouts and coaches predraft you don't get the real scoop. Only the talking heads stuff. Johnson out of Tech jumps out to me. 1-2 rounder. Yet look at film yourself and if the OT gets their hands on him it's all over for the guy. Then you get a kid like Williams.

Compares To: JAMES HARRISON, Pittsburgh -- This is high praise for an unknown player, but the more film scouts watch on Williams, the more they will notice he has the "it" factor. With patient coaching and in the right system, he could turn into one of the better finds in this draft. He plays with excellent field vision and awareness. Williams demonstrates the instincts to quickly track down the ball. He has the change-of-direction agility and lateral movement to string plays wide and hits ballcarriers with force, driving with his legs to push the opponent back through the rush lane.

tyke1doe;2754362 said:Well, I hope he's nasty like Harrison. I know a lot of Cowboys fans hate Harrison and his "after the play" extras. But the Cowboys need a player like that (as long as he doesn't cost us a penalty). The Cowboys need a mean, aggressive player who won't take no stuff off the opponent.
I hope this batch fits that bill.

But in what round did your mock draft him?BAT;2753915 said:Absolutely love this kid. He was one of my pet cats from the very beginning. Had him on every single one of my mocks (come to think of it, my mocks really did not change that much w/most of my players).
He is a playmaker. He is already as big as Bradie James, don't know why there are so many knocks on his size?

I'm not knocking the choice; just curious.
jday;2754842 said:No search necessary, I believe you. I was just curious of the round because I've seen varied mocks taking from anywhere in the 7th up to the 3rd. But from what I heard, had the Cowboys not taken him when they did, he wouldn't have made it through the round. And from the bio and highlights I've seen, I can certainly see why. Of course, I think it may take a couple of years for him to prove his worth. But here's hoping he does in 09.

with ratliff, he's going to have to fight through guys.
