Javonte Williams Appreciation Thread

I have Jeanty as well. Currently leading by two points and its Jeanty vs the Texans defense tonight. Pray for no early game injury and big game by him.
I have a boom/bust team that is booming so far:

QB-Dak
RB1- Jeanty
RB2- Connor
Flex RB- Javonte
WR1-Puca
WR2- *JSN*
TE- Ertz
K-*Aubrey*
D -*Green Bay*

Bench:
QB- Ward
RB- Skattebo
RB- Etienne (Rookie)

I thought he was washed but he runs hard as hell and fights for extra yards. He’s a good asset on offense but still believe he would be better as a spell back
Yes, the fact that Williams is the featured back is a problem to me. A good asset, but I don't want to rely on him to run for 100 yards/game...I don't see him having that capability. Not quite quick enough, not quite fast enough, and is strong, but not overly so...

Williams is basically in the mold of Marion the Barbarian.

Tough inside runner with enough to get outside.

Week 1: 2 TDs.

Week 2: 97 yards, 5.4 yards a carry, 1 TD and 6 yards receiving. Over 100 total yards for the day!

3 TDs in 2 weeks!

Yes, Dak, Aubrey, Pickens, Clark all were fantastic. So was Williams, he brings balance to this offense which keeps the defense honest and he does all the dirty work for this team!

Much respect and a fantastic addition!

Go Cowboys!

He's been excellent so far! I love what he's doing so far. Keep it going JW!!!

Maybe 1 back in the entire NFL this year will run for 100/game
Just sayin'

Yes, ok, good point, but I don't see the potential for him to be a real threat on a regular basis. I don't think opposing DCs are worried about Javonte.

I don't know why anyone is terribly concerned about the Cowboys' run game at this point. Through two games, the team is averaging 127 YPG and 5.1 YPC. I'd gladly carry that pace all season long.

Glad this thread was made. Williams looks like the back he was at North Carolina again. Runs hard, runs with attitude, can block, and can catch. His burst seems to be back.

Just wish that whatever is keeping Blue out of the lineup gets sorted out soon and we will have a true "thunder and lightning" tandem.

I respectfully disagree. Williams has great short area quickness and burst, and is a strong runner that drives through contact. He's also a great blitz pickup blocker and receiver. If he lacks anything it's long speed.

Is he excellent in any one area? No. Is he an elite RB? No. But he is good at everything, and that's why he was once a 2nd round pick. Now he's completely over his knee issues and the Cowboys have a number one back.

Some of the big runs he had today was all him where he broke multiple tackles. Our OL didn't have a great showing today.
On the 30 yard TD he broke the 1st tackle...most of our previous RBs woudl get taken down. Couple more half-try tackles and away he went.

Marion Barber's lil cousin is 7th in rushing and Schotty hasn't featured him as the bell cow (yet).

He runs hard. When old man winter comes the Cowboys will punish teams.
