Javonte Williams has Outplayed Saquon Barkley this season

I posted before the season that Barkley would not repeat what he did last year and someone gave me some flak for it. But the next time someone rushed for 2000 yards in consecutive season will be the first time someone rushes for 200 yards in consecutive seasons. Barkley had to come down to earth at some point. He is still a dangerous RB.

How quickly people forget that Javonte was a stud and quite the scary back before he was got injured. Our online is really stepping it up with outstanding depth.

He didn’t suck. KC put 100% focus on stopping him and making Hurts beat them. Saquon basically took one for the team.
He didn't suck? He had one of this worst games of the season lol. I don't think a gameplan is "LET HURTS GO OFF ON US EVEN THOUGH HE ALMOST BEAT US LAST TIME DOING IT"...

They played well against Saquon. I'm just disagreeing they "won" because of him. They didn't. They were perfectly fine with Deandre Swift when he was there. They have the best offensive line in the league. Barkley was a luxury.

Broaddus said in the post game show on The Fan that he wanted to find out who's responsible for Javonte coming here and someone told him it was Will McClay that wanted to bring him in. Broaddus also said that Sean Payton told him Javonte was the real deal. I guess their RB stable was overcrowded.
The Broncos reportedly wanted to re-sign him.

It's funny because no one would consider Williams to be fast or elusive. Best thing about that run may have been him blowing through both a would-be tackler and our left tackle practically without stopping.

This is why its hard to pay RB's big money.
True. The hard thing is you've got to have a good one. Last year showed that. The best bet is lucking into one in the draft because you've got four years of control for relatively cheap. However, when you wait until the third day of draft to take one, your chances of hitting are low. And when you pay cheap, your chances of having this kind of success are also low.

If we let Williams go next year because he'll be asking too much, we'll have to hope that either Blue stepped up to show he can replace him or we get as lucky with our next low-cost acquisition.

Williams and this ground game have been a pleasant surprise.

nobody is giving Kellen Moore any credit for Saquons success

I would not pay a RB more than 5m a year. Draft one every couple a years and sprinkle in low cost veterans. Pay Oline, QB and #1 WR

Well, if you listened to Spags interview two days after the SB, he said "Our plan was to shut down Barkley first. That was our number one focus. We did a good job of going that." I don't think Spags was lying. And no, Swift wasn't good enough. That's why they let him walk and got Saquon. That Lombardi they have from last year proves it was the right move. That o-line was leaking oil by seasons end. Dickerson and Jurgens were taking turns being injured for parts of games. Hell, Dickerson, as some are now saying, should have been put on IR for four weeks after this year's surgery. He is not his usual self and has already been pulled from two games with issues. Lane also missed parts of two games. They were throwing out three subs a few times already this year, and against good teams. Mailata and Jurgens are the only two starters that haven't missed part of a game.

I never said Saquon was the wrong move. I’m saying they could’ve won without him.

Spags saying Barkley was our main focus is one thing. You said they wanted to let Hurts go off and worry about Barkley. Not the same thing.

Eagles offensive line was great last year. By far the best in the league.

I never said they wanted to let Hurts go off. Go back and read what I wrote. Making Hurts beat them is not letting him go off. Spags didn’t think Hurts could do what he did, which is why they focused on Barkley. Come on, you’re better than this.

Yes, Eagles line was the best last year.

He is our early season offensive mvp.

Without him a lot of our offensive firepower would be muted, and Dak would be taking more risks.

Now we need Jaydon Blue to really show. If he gets going the RB room with Wiliams, Sanders, Blue and Luepke will be the strongest unit on the team.
Best rooms on the team would be WR and O-Line at this point, playboy.

I would hate to lose him this offseason. He’s still only 25 years old. He’s worth a 4 year 32 million dollar deal IMO. I would offer it to him now.
