Amid career year, Cowboys' Javonte Williams nearing $500K in bonuses

If Javonte Williams didn't gain another inch this season, he still would have been worth every penny of the $3 million the Cowboys spent on him for the 2025 campaign.

Except he will. And probably within the next couple of games, the veteran running back could soon cash in on an extra $500,000 to cap off what is already a career year.

Through 12 games, Williams has set a new personal best in rushing yards (955). With 45 more yards on the ground- a number he's hit in all but two outings this year- he'll notch his first-ever 1,000-yard season.

The fifth-year ballcarrier has also rushed for a career-high eight touchdowns, as well as added two more through the passing game.

Is Jerry going to bench him now?

Couldn't be happier with Javonte. It's super cool to see a guy come back from a bad injury anywhere in the league but when it happens here, it's that much sweeter. Even if he gets a big contract (relatively speaking) if you factor in how cheap we got him this season and what our return has been, it's a win for the cap, right?

Absolutely the most underrated player on this team.

Other than Dak, an injury to Javonte would devastate the Cowboys the most. Their success hinges on him staying injury-free.

He’s 25 and definitely has 3-4 years of juice left. RBs like Williams aren’t scoring massive contracts in FA, so maybe we can get him back at a reasonable amount that makes both sides happy.

He’s everything and more Dallas could have hoped for . I would go 2 yrs 13.5 for him to return and take RB off the draft board
I think that would be a great deal, could be in the 8 to 10 range based on current contracts. However, the good news is there's other guys like Breece Hall, Najee Harris, Travis Etienne, Kenneth Walker, and Rico Dowdle that will likely be viewed in a similiar tier that saturates the market a bit as teams look more towards the draft. So maybe that drives the price down a bit. Regardless he's earned a bigger contract than what he's been getting paid.

He’ll get a minimum of 2 for $10MM, but I’m betting he gets more. Looking at the guys making 8-10apy right now and he’s better than they are, plus new year = contracts usually go up based on SC increases, etc.

Alright! Something to root for.

He’s been such a great addition. Happy for him!

Malik Davis RB should not be ignored in the conversation. This guy has some nifty wheels. A quick-footed, agile and clever runner. He can catch a pass as well. Certainly faster than reported and he has good vision. Malik is just not a mauler. He outran the Chiefs defense for a touchdown last Thursday.

He is certainly better than I thought........bring BOTH back for 2026. I'm this close to being done with Blue........lol

Nice. He deserves the 500K and then some. With the early career adversity he’s a guy that’s fun to root for. Digging himself out of the injury hole and producing is pretty fun to watch.

Well deserved as he’s been one of the keys to the Cowboys top offense.
